LOng story but guy told me he had a Ts 250 roller  i would like "same as your TM250" , great seat, tyres you know the drill, how much i say $50, ok sounds like i deal and i pay up, thinking spare forks and wheels at least.

anyhow went over there this weeks ( actually forgot i paid him before nats) and this is what he wheels out, now while i stand there and think of asking for my dough back, when i get more intregued about why the bottom of the frame is missing ?? then he point to a home made buggy a mate gave him in the corner,  out fof interest i take a look and there sitting high on the back is a near perfect looking early Ts motor still attacted to its lower frame..........

i looked at it a bit longer in relation to this "buggy" and i realise this guy is a real red neck and the buggy is never going to work.  I went on to ask how he is going tosecure the motor, then how are you ever going to get a left chain drive to run a right small cain drive axle on the other side of the motor, how do you change gears from behind your head and so on.......  the with a puzzled look on his face preceeds to tell me hell swap the motor for a water pump or centrifical 50cc motor to suit the buggy.  i kinda smiled and wondered back to TS monster i know own and he hands me a handfull of bolts.plates and frame bits he cut up ::) like thanks....

anyhow  the is only a little ali batdge on the front that says Ts250, weight, eng number and frame ( both match numbers) there is no comp plate , so unless this is a real rare RH66..... ;D

can some one ID it, and then tell me if there are any bits worth saving.  It does have a very cool pointy tank and a steel oil tank with an eve cooler OIL stamped ali screw filler bung.

front wheel is a 19' with a double cam brake.  Forks unfortunatly arent even ali and are steel in a Betor copy look.

cheers Freaky

Are you sure that ID plate says TM freaky ???
Are you going to tell us the ID numbers? Or is it  an out and out guessing competition ???

To me it looks like a mutilated 1969 Suzuki TS 250 savage ::)

YEp the  motor and the rest of the frame are still there, read the story, after i explained the working of the motor, he realised it was all in vain as it wont work in the buggy, and the motor looks immaculate...... grrrr

HE would swap the motor for a smaller auto or similar for this buggy, (that im sure will never ever be running). probally for the right money i guess he would just sell the motor anyway, with or with the bottom rails still attatched  ::)  he also umbolte the electrics etc so it actually was a complet unit, will still is really.

Doc seems yours has differant forks to this one, these be steel,  still yours is a cute bike by the look of it though, but im sure its the same thing. well excepy you TM covers and seat :)

Whats worth selling or keeping from this bike  ? are they even collectable, as i dont think its worth putting back together, so ill sell of most of it and bin the frame unless someone can tell me otherwise...

other thing i noticed was the clutch on the motor was like the DT1 with the button and the rod set up, which was interesting to see how similar the cover and actuator was to the yamaha set up

Tony it is meant to have an up pipe same as the one on the floor in Freaky's photo's ;) The pipe I have on mine is what they called the kit pipe from the R/T MX kit. I also have the kit ignition and airfilter but I haven't fitted them yet even though I've had them for years..all in good time ::) the pic below is how the bike arrived (many thanks to Ed- PERM) I've still not ridden it but I can tell you just from wheeling it around that it weighs about 500kgs and would make the ground shake if it were MX'ed. I'd reckon dirt track is the go for these old TS's and that's where the standard twin leader front brake may also come in handy as it'd be right bastard to try and pull up :o :D

Freaky if you wish to part with that steering damper I'll gladly take it off your hands..it's all about appearances ya know! :D the forks and wheels on mine are '76 TS400 which gives it alloy rims and the 21" front hoop ;)

yep this one has the 19" front which is why i was going to test the IRC tyre on it on one of my Ft bikes, also im going to use the chrome rear guard on a frame im working on too, so it has bits i can use, just kinda not what i envisaged, i mean he kept going on a bout how good the seat base was.........  trust me its just average, but probally in better mech cond than the yellow one tured up like, the bike was runnignas i do remeber seeing it running with an old chap a while back, its just a shame he chopped it, but i guess its made it easy to make the call on it.

I'll brake it down, i reakon when i get a chance and bin the frame, rest ill list on ebay or take best offers off here, i just dont have room for it, and really no use, if i can find a fit for the tank, id like to run it on somthing cause its a cool shape , but i doubt that will ever happen either.
