Ok lets stop getting wound up!
First up at the nationals this year theywere open to pre 75 bikes as well, I know this as I paided for both bikes to race and I am sure that Pre 65 bikes would have been given a class as well if enough interest had been shown. Next the Classic nationals are just that, up to pre 85. So when you talk about the moderns and the juniors they would not be eligable anyway. Now I cannot see why you shouldn't be able to run a national event for juniors and moderns. Then the next problem as most of the ASA is in SA or VIC does that mean the rest of us allways have to travel to SA to do the championship?
Yes I would like the races to be longer and I would like more races but its the same for the solo's and  its a lot tougher on a sidecar I ride both. There were a lot of guys that turned up the week before for HBBB and rode the track and we all got on great ( well they didn't talk to Walter but thats ok) went to dinner and made me very welcome. The last point for now is the sidecars are great but when its only sidecars it gets a bit boring so personnely I like the solo's to be there plus there is a bigger pool of marshals to help out and when the races are longer the bikes tend to spread out that gets boring as well also we have a bigger audience and have more chance of bringing new blood in to the sport. Sorry I have to go out now so will continue this later

Yes the moderns and juniours can have their own title, but with only 2 classes (maybe 25-30 bikes?) it is not viable. entry fees would not come close to covering all the basic costs of an MA title event so without the classic classes, it is not possible.

Walter was there a Pre75 Machine that took a title?  The results are just a little confusing, and congrats to you and Steve of course and all the other Pre 85 place getters and racers Cheers Tim754

PS You got my son really fired up at the HBBB so maybe (yes! yes! yes!) next titles my rough ugly old shitbox Honda will be getting in your way as ya laps it again ;) Actually we where honestly going to try to enter early as (and IF) possible that week ... I was retrenched on Monday >:( but that is how it is and I will not let the black dog bite and win again ever. Cheers  Tim Derrick

I may not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it.

Ok we are starting to agree which is a good step why can,t the moderns and juniors be a national championship and the pre 68 pre 75 and pre 85 be non championship to keep the numbers up? The other question I have was you said that most owners of the classic bikes rode in 2 or 3 classes if thats the case I don,t see that will make a big difference to the bottom line as  say the entry is $150 each extra bike is $25 you said you had 6 bikes for pre 85, 15 bikes in pre 75 and 4 bikes in pre 68 so if Pre 85 bike owners had 2 bikes that would leave another 14 bikes at $150 $ 2100 !  $2100 doesn't buy a lot these days. If we want to get the numbers up how about inviting Quads to join the moderns and juniors and the advantage of this is you already have riders that are half way to being sidecar drivers and passengers and its a market which is untapped at the moment and they tend to sweep the tracks remember we are talking about one race a year that we need to put on a pedestal and showcase our sport to the biggest audience possible . There also seems to be a movment to split the nationals into pre75 and post 75  if that happens there is a chance that the races will be longer and more of them but you have to be at the table to talk otherwise your voice won't be heard. I am sure there are other ASA members reading this thread  please join in and add your 2 cents worth Steve Baker

We have no intention of gatecrashing the classic titles with moderns.
I don't know where you got that from. We simply want an all sidecar title. (like '07)

mmmm I thought it was all about having some fun, appears I might be wrong, anyway I'm just as happy belting around a padock, if all this bullshit ends up in QLD with our crew I for one will stick to the solos, not that I expect anyone to care, so take your over inflated egos poke them up your arse and maybe that will make you smile and talk to each other

As an outsider I may be missing something here (nothing new ;D) but I fail to understand why the sidecar division should have its own stand alone championship. To my way of thinking, sidecars are just another class in classic (and modern) motocross competition, no more or less important than any other class. By using your own stand alone sidecar title meeting  as a precedent, MA would have to consider any other class that lobbies for its own stand alone titles. How about a stand alone "Australian Pre '78 125 Titles" or something equally as absurd for instance?
Because you guys have another wheel and a passenger on board  doesn't make yours any more important than any other division in my estimation.

(No animosity or personal criticism inteded towards anybody involved in the sidecar division, I've got some good friends who use three wheels. I'm just bringing up something that's had me bamboozled for years) ;)

I certainly hope you aren't referring to me hitatree old pal. If you are, you haven't answered my well meaning question, one that many "skinny bike" riders have been asking for years.
If you're referring to someone else, no problems, I'll get out of the way as you seem a tad angry. :-\

No you have nothing to do with it, and for the record I agree with you, in my post the first sentence is mine the rest is a copy and paste from a somewhat dimwitted moron who constanly sends meanless dribble emails to me that I assume he thinks that they mean something! Like Y said in my earlier post firko some of these blokes need to poke there over inflated egos up their arse and smile!

Why is it that most of  the problems created on this forum , originate from cyber racers . The real racers sort it out on the track . That has been done for 2010  in Broadford . Lets move on  , where are the titles held next ? If you are that fast , do your miles and the hard yards .
Wally you idiot nothing to do with racing you could lap me in a 2 lap race! thing is I dont care! few of us cant wait to meet you at the QLD titles then CD7 them Prospine should be a fun packed 3 week ends! oh almost forgot to add my name! Easy for me as I only have one!
