yz175c vs Yz125X forks/shock

Can anyone tell me if these are the same units from one bike to the other?

all the forks on the yz125x yz250 yz400 are the same with the air canistors

The forks and shock would be the same from 125/175. 250/400 would have heavier springs/damping. I think the 250/400 forks are a bit different as well.

YZ125X and YZ125C forks are identical.

But - despite what I thought - YZ250/400C forks are different (sorry Jim!). These seem to run the earlier style lower leg, with the much smaller axle clamp.
The upper tubes also have a different part number, although the difference isn't visible in the crappy PDFs.

All of the internals seem to be the same from 125 to 400 (based on a quick scan of the part numbers).

I should have read that properly....old fool, old eyes and getting late, just as well we've got young Nathan on the job.....175....C v 125X. I should have had only 1 cup of cocoa

thanks guys, so if I order a set of fork oil seals and dust covers to suit a 175X they should be 36mm and basically the same as the 125X ?  I couldn't find any sets for 125C's ??

All Balls do a tripple lip seal for these, awesome seals, you can order them through your bike shop or pm me.

Why are you looking at 125C bits?

125X and 175C forks are identical - they have the same part number, as shown in the parts diagrams

The earlier confusion in the thread, combined with be being on a roof today in 40 degree temps, have fried my brain. Yes, I'm after 125X seals and dust covers so I'll order the 175C ones.

Thanks Davey, but unless they can do the full set for seals and covers for $30 Aus delivered......

one more thing....

Is the 125X shock the same as any other model, eg YZ250? it looks the same in the crappy PDF's mentioned earlier and the part numbers are similar.

1G8-22210 for the 125X
509-22210 for the 250C

See if I can get this one right.....YZB, MXB, YZC all basically the same monoshock, there would be slight updates as they went to the next model. Now I'll wait for Nathan to shoot me down!!!!

The 22210 part of the part number is just Yamaha's universal number for a rear shock. The prefix tells you what bike its for, the middle part tells you what it is, and the suffix(es) tell you colour/oversize/revision number. The exceptions are generic bits like bearings and seals and springs, which have their own numbering system.

So... those numbers tell you that the 250C and 125X have rear shocks   and that they're different to each other.
Whether the differences are big or small is the real question...

Oddly, the 125X/175C complete shocks have a different part number to the complete 250/400C shock, but every individual part appears to be the same?!
Definitely the big/obvious stuff like spring, body, shaft and valve assembly are the same, so I can only assume that they're the same shock.

Edit for Mr Crocket: Nope, that's my understanding too.

I just scored a NOS set off ebay, cost me $$$ but im looking to get a few sets reproduced through fernando the husky parts/reproduction rubbers guy as i have a few X's need more than one set. If you were interested?

Also if you could let me know how you go with the h/d spring that'd be good!!
