Great Short Circuit shots , Mick, thanks for posting 'em up as most of the DT members here are runnin on empty as far as photos go,
At Cowra, I think # 14 is Don Howison, his number and looks like his leathers and # 25 Greg Primmer, Slides will probably know.

14 & 25 are correct Foss, 55 used to be Tony Hatton's number but I don't think it's him.
Great photo's, looks like you rode that XL straight up the pit ramp at Amaroo and all the way home.
Don't worry if they're not of A graders, put em up.
Check out the ramp on the infield at Amaroo, can't remember that.

Not sure if I've posted this one before, too lazy to look.
Check out the amount of dirt on Nepean.

I'm all teary with nostalgia seeing those old Amaroo short circuit photos. A lot of folks didn't like the track much because it was so different to most others of the day but it was my all time favourite. There was no better buzz in dirt track than hitting the down hill main straight dog leg tapped out in top. The very last race on the old circuit was a Penrith club vintage meeting back in '94 or '95.

Co-incidentally Amaroo Park was one of the few dirt tracks that was also CAMS licenced. I had the privelege of punting a workmates Morgan +4 twin cam around the track at a sports car lap dash meeting in the late 80's. At that meeting a bloke rolled his lightweight Mini sports sedan at least six times after getting it horribly wrong on the dog leg. Doors and fibreglass body panels flew off the car on every roll and we were sure the driver had been killed until he crawled from the crumpled wreck with nothing more than a black eye.  :o

Hi

I used to love that track too, for exactly the same reasons, I had that back straight sorted! I often think when I drive past that area what the track looks like now?
