Wow , some top shots there, Hoony and Freaky, great stuff,
The shots of " Rocket " Rod McDonald sent me searching for a copy of this photo, South Coast Cup final 2004, Sapphire Speedway, Bega, # 14 Rod McDonald, # 65 Tim Heffernan, the lads were never more than this far apart for 4 of the 5 laps.

Going into turn one at the start of lap 5, the last,Tim pulled a podium or ambulance move around the outside of Rod and low-sided off the track , unhurt, Rocket took the checker and pulled up alongside Tim and got him on the back of his bike , took him back up the front straight, past the crowd who gave the pair a huge ovation, ya shoulda heard them, ya shoulda heard me on the mike, !!!

And Chris Baybutt broke his collarbone that day, what a great track that was and I spent most of my time down near the creek.
I still remember that day, 1st test I think and there was a real BUZZ.

Does anyone have photos of Julian Wigg at the Nepean long track, I seem to remember him being able to go the whole lap with the throttle on the stop. And if my fading memory is correct he was the first to hang onto the front fork with his left hand (at Nepean).

I may be wrong Steve but I'd be very surprised if Julian rode the longtrack at Nepean, Simon might have but I can't recall.
You have spent more time there than me though.

Have a picture here: Julian Wigg Leading John Langfield at Napean Test Match. (not long track)

This one here also at Napean, think this maybe Simon Wigg Long Track?

Can you guys pick the track ? the 5ways in the 70's would bring riders like Don Stafford up from Vic to do battle.

If it's not Londonderry, would it be Arcadia? 295 in the first shot is Kevin Wright, and I rode a few meetings there with him. It was Eastern Suburbs Motorcycle Club's home track, from memory. They used to run a lot of 5 ways there.

Jim wins the cigar and yep thats Kev, I had some ding dong battles with him there. Londonderry was run by Blacktown MCC and had a strong short  circuit following in both solos and sidecars. :)
