What was it with all the 300 numbers from the Hunter region, was that a conscious thing or not?
I'll be interested to know who the rider is wearing the BWP blue diamond or was it black for Newcastle?

#323 is my brother. I had my first ride on his BSA at Salty Creek. My early days of riding I adopted his racing number. Most of the shots are from Heddon Greta, the ones where you can see a bit of grass in the background are Salty Creek. Take note of the shot where they are coming into the pit gate, the rider at the back #809 I think was Herbie Jeffo pre Hagon days. I have plenty more photos to come as I picked up a heap from my brother yesterday. I can't help much with any of the other riders names. I will post a few each day so keep a look out!
I think you are right #387 looks like a Yam, I hadn't noticed that. #34 sidecar is Jack Pearce.

Old Bar at Taree I think.

Salty Creek

What all good dirt trackers eat between races!......My brother looks like he is scoffing a pie down! Tomato sauce replaced with sump oil!

Good stuff from even before my time Hollywood. Hardly a 2 stroke to be seen and no flash riding gear or full face helmets. Shit, there's hardly even a helmet peak to be seen ;D. Am I correct in guessing the shots were taken circa '64-66?

Yeah Firko, I would say 64 - 66.
Don, 809 is def Herb Jeffo.
Foss has some great shots he'll post up soon, courtesey of Kevin Patton.
I think I'll just do a home invasion on Mr Burkett and steal his photo's, I'm sick of waiting for him to get off the lounge and make a contribution, I might even wheel a few Hagon's down the driveway while I'm at it.

The top photo of the lonely Beeza evokes memories of how it used to be......ammo tool box, black leathers, Cromwell helmet, old iron barrel Beeza..(the Elsinore of their era, they were everywhere!), an old cream Dodge Kingsway St Johns ambulance and even a bloke in a cardigan. Ah the sixties. ;D

Love the drop down throttle cables.
Legend has it that leading rider in the 60's, Dave O'brien was known to pull on a competitors throttle cable as they battled it out, you can see how easy that would be but you wouldn't want to try it going into a left hander, imagine if someone tried that today.

Barry bloody Collyer did that sort of trick, too, Slides, he did exactly that to me on me JAP at Griffith in a first corner dust up, I got the better of it , so I thought, but when it came time to button off a bit at the end of the straight, the bloody throttle cable had come out of the twist grip and jammed down the side the adjuster at full noise , grabbed the plug cap, pulled it off, shit those SEM maggys put out some voltage !!! electrifying to say the least.

Yeah Mark, funny how we seem to go in cycles, or is that circles?
The only one letting the team down is Ian, I know he has a heap of old photo's.
And you're still mates Foss, the way it was.
