I spannered a few times for Bobby " Boogaloo " Schwartz when he came to Oz and yes he was very good, won a couple of World Best Pairs with Bruce Penhall in the 80's.
Good fella.

Hey Steve
EA was unpacking some old books and photos and I came across this one

Caption reads " Birmingham's " Wild Colonial Boy " Carl Askew blasts around the boards at Rye House.

Cheers

Only two Husky ??

Ok another Aussie riding for the Brummies

Phil Herne getting a bit of drive.

By the way " Hommer 'em Craydley " is the war-cry of the Cradley Heath fans, I've written it as  Brummies say it , they dont speak proper in Brum.

Jeez....my memory bank is working today. I remember the little guy in the top photo, Kevin Wright. He never looked old enough to race with the big kids! sorry!

Firko,
I hadn't seen Kevin for nearly 30 years when he showed up at the 50th anniversary at Nepean, I think he was with TH , still doesnt look old enough !! by the way, somewhere I have a shot of Mick Baran at the start on the CCM at Nepean, it was a C grade teams event an he was riding for St. George , I'll post it when I find it.
