I think A9 is former Australian Speedway Champion Steve Regelling. He liked the tassels.

I'm sure you are right , Steve , cos the name rings a bell , now you've mentioned it , only went to Kempsey once and Steve Regeling was there, the race number just didn't ring any bells.

Tony, Ive just checked the magazine and it doesn't credit the photographer that took that photo or indeed any photo in the Mag.

I've known Langy well for many years now and I know he loved to stick it up the Poms on the track , it was only 12 months ago I admitted to him I was a Pom , bloody hell you should have heard  him , The Auld Enemy , 3rd February 1854  and all that , wasn't till I told him me mob came from Ireland originally that he settled down

Apologise for the quality , however these photos have survived 30 or more years plus a house fire.

Hey Foss, at a guess would that be the Oz titles held at Kempsey and I think Stephan Gall won it that year.
I think no3 is his team mate, Willoughby or something.
Looks like Len Norris got a bad start.
C'mon Mr Burkett, extract a digit, where are your photo's?

It was my understanding that Green was bad luck, it will be interesting to here from Pete how lucky he was in those leathers.
My brother Carl would even cut any green out of stickers before putting them on his bike, I Pissed him off big time once by deliberately hanging a green rag out of my back pocket when spannering for him at a Longtrack meeting.
