they are rock hard it is a styling thing they are uncomfortable my PE is like a lounge chair in comparison.

rode one of those 530 KTMs on the weekend after riding the PE175. "Beast" is a fairly accurate description. The acceleration just about made my eyes water. Not to mention the braking.

I think of this as my main Vinduro bike, but its also the newest/best trail bike I've got, so I guess it should be in this thread:





Through a bunch of lucky deals and the generosity of a few mates (particularly Roger, Greg and Marty), it owes me less than $500.

Here's the 'modern' enduro bike. When its complete, its the bike I can ride the fastest, even compared to newer stuff:



Turns out that 1994 model TM forks have different internals to all of the other Marzocchi Magnums out there, and Cessnock Motorcycles have been somewhat 'software challenged', so I can't even order the parts. 

Thinking seriously about a late model KDX200 as the new do-everything bike. Maybe a WR200 if I can find the right bike for the right price when I've actually got the cash (which now that I say it out loud, is probably never...).
Although the brand new 2008 model Husky WR250s for $8500 are mighty tempting... If I wasn't so allergic to debt, I reckon I'd already own one.

Here is my 'modern' trailie . Went out for its first outing on the weekend. I was very impressed. It is a '98 yz250 that was adr'ed by Bert Flood. Must have a flywheel weight as it's so good and usable. Had an absolute fat time on it.

Someone about my size mustn't have tightened the axle nut so some engineering was required to keep the fun factor going. Luckily the locator was still there otherwise it would have been game over.

The DRZ,had suspension done, air box,jetting,full yoshi ti exhaust,(not in picture added later ) went form a wollowy pig to a bike that can run with the best of them,you do feel the weight at the end of the day, but hey it keeps you fit and when you get back of your light weight vintage racer youll be better prepered for the new season.

And 15000kms between valve checks,not high maintanence like the others, and if you want more power 470 kit will put you on par with any 450
