Had a look at the masters web site last night it sounds like its a huge event with a lot of people who would remeber the golden age of sidecars couldn't think of a better way to show case the sport. If we have missed the cut off date for next year, we should be lobbying for its inclusion for 2012 but it will require people to get off there bums and do something!

Good news! Spoken to one of the organizers at the masters games they have an open mind about the sidecars, and said to me as long as, at least 6 teams turned up they would let us join in. The track is at Reedy creek (where ever that is) I believe it is going to be natural terrain however there will be some jumps in it and have been told it will be sandy they are happy to let the moderns join in and if it helps to raise the numbers that has to be a plus, the classes could be worked out by ages, if we have a big turn out. I think the event is from the 6th to the 14th of November 2010. The sub regs have to be worked out by mid Feb so we need to start planning. The cost is $90.00 per person so 180.00 per sidecar team and you will need a national race licence ( dont think day licences will be allowed ) If you are racing at Broadford you should already have a national licence. I don,t want us to get bogged down in politics of what is allowed because we have the chance to display our great team sport to an expected 10,000 participants, I can't think of a better way to show case sidecar MX.
Have tried to contact the ASA as yet have had no response, but hopefully they could send a few teams over, some of the West Australians might be interested if they are going to CD7 and sending bikes in a container again, the Queensland guys might be able to store the container  until November for the event, and then send it back later. Remember its going to be hot that time of year as well. We need to get the ball rolling so if I can get some names and numbers, so that I have something to present to organizers to get us into the games that would be a good start.  If you want, send info as a pm to me, thats ok.
