Andrew,

The easiest way I find to post photo's is via a photo hosting site, like www.photobucket.com

you upload your photo's to that site first, then post a link to them on this site. If you get stuck there's a few help tips at the top of the main forum page.

As far as paint is concerned, if you want to go nuts on detail, you can't go past http://www.yz125d.blogspot.com/  ...for paint tips and the correct paint to use on different parts.

Are you going to race the bike when you're finished ?

hey Mr Chrome, at least there's no goat involved ;D

Hey Andrew
I get most of my parts from a outfit called Boats.net in the US http://www.boats.net/ they are great to deal with and if you keep your orders small (half a dozen small items) there std postal charge is $8.95 US but you need to enter the part numbers as they dont have diagrams for older models I just use south seattle yamaha to get the part number and search Boats.net for the part.
For hard to get parts try speed and sport or ebay but dont give up on your local yamaha dealer some parts they sell are cheap I got my swing arm chain guard (the big white one) for twenty something dollars. As for the front number plate I restored it with Jif and Mothers plastic polish.
Yz250h the biggest problem is corrosion of the steering shaft and seal surfaces the shaft on mine looked bad when I pulled it out but once it was cleaned up the rust was superficial and the shaft seal surfaces were OK. The big problem is the bottom seal it's like a normal seal turned inside out (seals on the outside to the steering head surface and is pressed on to the steering shaft) and its the steering head tube seal surface that corrodes and leaks I fixed mine by pressing a 42mm speedi sleeve
http://www.alliedbearings.com/mfg_prod/seals/cr_speedi/index.html
into the steering head along with a shit load of sealant and it seams to work great Ive air tested it with no leaks but the big test will be when get it going with coolant in it hopefully soon! hope that helps. :)

Guys

I've had great dealings with Rich Sharp at boats.net
email him - [email protected] with your wish list and he'll provide you with a shipping quote. For orders under US$60 they'll ship First Class internantional, which is fairly cheap. They're great for Yamaha parts and you can also get a few Honda bits like nuts & bolts.

The black outs are painted from new but I cut mine from vinyl stickers and I got a NOS canister bracket from Speed and Sport also I spotted a NOS linkage cover on Ebay the other day so have a look there. As for the swingarm the 125s are 100% painted from new the finish looks like its anodised but its paint I would have thought the 250&490s would be the same but I'm not sure. :-\
My 125 won't be running for a while the house is getting painted and I'm away riding on the WR this weekend ;D so I might ge it running in a month or so.
