Thanks Pete,
Mmmmmm, oiled dirt, I can smell it now, just like the good old days.
Which brings the thought of a classic 6 hr race to mind?????????????

When Nepean was like bitumen the common tyres used were Flatrack Carlisles and believe it or not but the old Dunlop K70. From what Pete said it sounds like there will be more dirt on it than what Nepean had.

And road race wet weather tyres but god help you if you got out of the groove and into the marbles.
I still use a 19" Carlilse on front of my Maico and it works a treat.

The track surface will be fairly loose with a firm base. When the track is prepared right (which it will be for the titles) there is no slick line created . We run trails tyres on the rear & either a soft knobby front or 21' trials. We are throwing around wether to run the Saturday's practice in daylight with probably two rounds on Saturday night as the track is set up with lighting. Then have a meal & drink at the golf club next door after. Then conclude the rest of the rounds & finals early Sunday arvo to let the travellers get home at a reasonable time. We have camping area with male & female amenities with hot showers. Format will propably be of 5 rounds as we can run 25 events per hour as we don't have to groom the track between rounds so the surface remains consistant. This is just tentative format at the momment . We are trying to make this a easy going and memorable meeting so make sure you are there !!!!!!!

Sounds awesome I'm really looking forward to it. Actually just looking forward to start racing next year. Have had one meeting this year on a mates bike so can't wait to start on my own. Would be awesome to race under lights. What's the weather like that time of year grasy?

We lost a great mate & former dirt tracker last week Jamie Alexander (Jagger) 48 years young.Jamie raced in Aust Titles & NSW Titles in the Late 70's & early 80's with great passion & results in 125cc ,250cc classes, then later designed & installed our lighting set up around the Pines Speedway(as he was an electrician & electronic wizz)  In memory of Jagger, the GMSC  last race at the Aussie Titles 2010 will be the Aces Invitation Jamie Alexander Memorial Race. This race will be a mix of the highest point scorers from each class over the weekends event in a five lap race 1st place only trophy. RIP JAGGER

Sorry to hear about the loss of your mate Jamie Alexander, Grasy. It’s never an easy thing. Over the last few years of  getting “into” this sport I have developed a new found respect for those who are that dedicated, that they "give" of themselves to the ongoing survival and promotion as such.
“The Jamie Alexander Memorial Race”, sounds like a great way to remember the life and contribution of a good bloke. RIP to your mate Jamie Alexander, Grasy.

Mick.

Sorry to here that Dave, 48s way too young.............my condolences go to Jamies family.

A thought came to me while I was in the shed working on my flat tracker the other day. 750cc and up American style flat trackers don't really fit into our rule structure right now so really wouldn't be eligible for a gong class at the titles. Would it be too hard to include a flat track exhibition class at the titles to encourage more folks to build or import these fascinating bikes?........Just a thought ;)

Hi Firko,I can't see why we can not run them as a support class, providing there are enough to make a race out of it,but will have to put it to our committee.

Well they should fit into Both pre 75 250 or allpowers by default, even if its later 78 IT or TT based, or even "other: surely you would go by that to find it a class slot based on cappacity and motor year.  But you still have classes they slot into.

Isnt this like the slider argument why split them up unless its a specific NAt class with the numbers to fill it ?  which wont happen. because they woudl be the same as the exsiting really.

just a thought...
