Trip to the USA.

Nothing "plastic" about the racers, they are the real deal. They ride on the limit, on tracks that claim a life per year (on average), with very little health insurance. Add to that, all that I have met are courteous and make time to talk with the fans.
You would have to spend some time here to have some understanding, its the same as Aussie racing but different.

Went to see the second largest hotel in the world at Nashville with the glass roof thanks for the tip Pete.
Then went to the old part of Nashville that was cool the daughter brought some cow girl boots there .
We are now in Kentucky at a town called bardstown cool small town old buildings and where bourbon is made .

Cool Mick, those old towns that litter the countryside can be so interesting. You are just north of Mammoth Caves, we went through them on a trip, very pretty area and the caves were neat. Not sure if it warrants a trip through them, but I do remember it is where I first seen them lightning bugs, so go outside in the dark. We are on I 10 heading west to race at Waco on the weekend.

The daughter did mention about those bugs that light up at night a few days back .
I like the old style white two storey homes with the America flag on them and the rocking chair on the veranda with the swinging chair as well have seen a few on our travels .
We are in Lewis burg West Virginia it has the old part of town with the cool old shops etc .
Today we are heading to Washington dc to check out some sites White House etc .

there is lots to see in dc do the hop on hop off buses from the rail ststion make sure you have all day,go to arlington cem jfk and jackie are there its huge
do the war memorials as well near the large pool (call out for jenny like forrest)
areo space is also good
if you are going to new york you must go to the bike shop in sixth street
called 6street specials all pommy and dirttrack tel them jim with the triumph in australia sent you
they are racers and great blokes

We went to Washington today wed we only had time to Stop and take photos off the White house and some other buildings and small lake areas couldn't get a park any where .
I know the movie well I
Watched it a month or so back I would of got some funny looks yelling out Jenny nice one jim 
Time was a factor to get to New York on time to drop the hire car off .
But wasn't washington flat out at lunch time traffic was crazy heading out of there never seen it so busy over here so far .
 I bet New York is going to be the same the gps is getting a work out .
Tonight we are in Lancaster Pa

IF YOU CAN GO TO THE ARMISH TOWN INTERCORSE PA
yes its a real town and they sell all there foods there i still have some bottled jam from my last trip there
also the rocky statue is next to the stairs in philly dont run up them only idiots do that when on holidays
washington park in new york is good go to the chealse food markets its also great the seafood is the best
loby rolls, chowder ect worth the look for lunch
carmines on the upper west side is a good place to go for dinner
if you are staying in new york for a week get a subway ticket for the week great way to get arround
if you go to world trade center battery park is not far get the ferry over to liberty island

Raced Waco double header, Sat & Sun. Track was fantastic, had a lot of fun and finally won a few races! Bill Davis came out and enjoyed catching up with mates, some of his MX mates seen the light and are now Dirt-trackers. We are at Bill's now tearing the 500 apart, looks good apart from the tensioner breaking up, anyone have any spares?

These guys (blokes) hounded me all weekend, the bloke behind me just come back racing, he was using a walking stick and looked like he needed it. In the previous pic Roger Johnson (4) is 65 yrs old (ex National number) and just rode the age races ie over 45 with me and co and the over 60. Real fast and sensible, he avoids the money races (pro) because it gets dangerous when the loot comes out. Oh yeah, he beat me.

Pic from Waco, meet up with Jerry Kosinski and his mates, that's Jerry second from left. Meet Jerry in Little Rock in 2012 when chasing Triumph clutch plates for Tom Laird's Bike I rode that year. Jerry's shop is huge with a bunch of Ron Wood Rotax's set-up for World Champion son John, was a great visit and great to see him again.

Colleen at her photogenic best, been a great trip, missed the targets I set myself but had a go. I'm sure if I had not fell in the first heat race I went in I may have went a little better but that's racing and instead of going to some AMA Vintage rounds later this yr I will wait till the 2016 US season and concentrate on Australia for this yr. Thanks very much to our Texas family Nancy and Bill Davis and to all my friends that helped me with the engine, you done real good Len Norris it was fast! Currently leading the VDTRA 600 AM class as the first 2 rounds were at Waco.

Have to pass on some news out of US, friend Jeff Hawbaker has taken a year off racing and contacted mate Rich King to race the Kansas series. Rich is former factory Harley rider, National No 2#, retired in 2008. After changes to the vintage Honda 500 Rich won the Open Pro against current pro racers on modern machinery! Clocked at 110mph in Stockton Half-mile. Cool as, Rich is 52.
