Very interesting. Price landed in Aus should be less than $300 by the looks. Much cheaper than PVL, Powerdynamo etc but this has much less hardware involved so should be less costly to manufacture.

Don't know how long Runtronic has been making products but does look a little bit like a cottage industry product so hopefully manufacturers backup support is there is needed.

Requires a 5v nicad battery so I guess VMX bikes will be total loss. Just need to have a spare charged battery on hand - shouldn't be too difficult to remember!

Is it a simple process to mount the magnet in the flywheel? Drill a hole and glue in the magnet?

Hi Huskypete.

What a nice rebuild.
This is my fathers old bike. This bike was sold new 1978 in Halmstad at the Swedish west coast and my father buy it 1 year later at the same dealer who sold it new. He rode it from 1979 to 1983 and after that we have it storage in the garage. We sold the bike to a friend around 1995 and he never rode it. i Think he sold it just Before its arive to your country on the other side of the World.
My father applicated the Husky Wheels and the forks and maybe even the Öhlins (I think it was a pair of Koni on it from the begining). This parts come from Another friend who rode for the Husky factory at this time.
I rode this bike a few times when i was a 15 year old boy and it was tricky with the brake pedal at the left.

i hope you can ride with it and feel the same good feeling that i have.

Regards
Mikael Svensson
