have noted that Temora is penciled in for next year ,so are they going to run both ?.If not they should make M.A aware of this so that another club can put in for the other.
but IMO the split has hurt numbers. Twice as many events,so twice the amount of volunteer work needed, fees , travel for some riding both etc. Do we really need 5 rounds of heats before we get to the finals in Classic DT? Cut it back to 3 heats and throw Evo and pre-85 back in
There's no need whatsoever to split the Classic and Post Classic Dirt Track Championships. As I've written earlier, both divisions can be successfully fitted into a two day weekend event so long as the promoting club has its organisational act together. There seems to be a misunderstanding at MA and promoting club level that needs to be adressed. MA needs to understand that if a club opts to run both divisions, double dipping on the permit fee is
not the correct thing to do. Potential promoting clubs also need to know that it's entirely possible to run both Classic and Post Classic on the same two day weekend. It hasn't been a problem for any club over the last four or five years so why Canberra club 'froze', thinking they couldn't fit it all in surprises me. Are they that insecure about their abilities?
Why can't we get at least a month between Nat events? Does anyone know?
This is an important point. The setting of dates for the events needs to be carefully considered to allow as much time between events to allow those who attend both to spread their finances and time away from home and work over a greater time frame. Putting two National title meetings on a week apart is just plain stupid and I sincerely hope that something is done to correct this stuff up before both events are damaged.
