Hi Slakewell, wasn't the early Thumper Nats support race was a twin shock class not Evo? Just trying to remember.
Cheers, Grahame

Sod a revival of the "Thumper Nats" - in 2012, we need "Dinger Nats".

The good thing about telling the truth is that you don't have to remember what you said.

Mate It's been a few beers since then, But I think I based the class on the USA EVO rules which were nice and simple( back Then) Twin shock air cooled drummed brake. EVO at the time had no real championship or MA rules

Correct.. It started life as the Twinshock class in '93 and became Evo for '96-'97 before being dropped.
I was at the first race at Inverell and did the whole series in Evo in '96/'97

I was told they dropped it because the big sponsors at the time didn't feel it fitted and the race program was getting full as a fat ladies sock

Yes popularity killed it ~race team semi-trailers had to find a way onto the farmers paddocks.....too much of a good thing..
The original concept reads alot like todays Classic Dirt...Lithgow loam...old bikes....all cc's...grasstrack and loads of fun.... ;D...thanks Transmoto magazine

Have not read the entire thread but i a "ring ding nat" would fly better . . . . think about it, quite a reversal but mainstream mx has had the same reversal . . .
