Would not be surprised to find that sort of damage when I take the pump off. Which is why I was surprised to see coolant still in the radiator.
Was lucky with the 240 , only had the seal area totally gorn.
Sleeved the seal area with stainless sleeve.
Rivited the sleeve to the stainless backing plate to stop the coolant coming into contact with the main material.
My 86 250 exc did that as well and I,ve heard of some jap bikes doing it too.

Mike there is a pit bike ignition from Chinese ebayer JR MOTORSPORT PARTS DEPOT. I bought a load of Hydraulic clutches of him and his bits are cheap as and spot on. He has an ignition with a smaller rotor, which should fit in the cavity. There is also a DC/DC pit bike ignition but that is the same size(105mm rotor) with 12v output
Only be a week or so before the shiny new ones are here. They will be PC/hand held controller programmable I got the manufacturer to make intergrated silcone dust caps for the interface. Just pm me if you want more info

;D
12volt, same weight as husky flywheel, $55+postage. Only prob is getting the original centre out as it is hidden in behind the magnets which makes for a lot more work. Pity as everything else just falls into place.

Finally got her going yesterday.
Very nice to ride and plenty of power.
Decided to go for a second ride and it did the big kickback and now I am having trouble walking. ;D
Ankle a bit big and sore. ;D
Will post a photo later. [Of BIKE not ankle.]
Using the chinese CDI and COIL with SEM stator and flywheel. Runs good. :)

You probably have to much advance at the 'start' part of the advance curve.
