General Discussion / Broadford natural terrain track this Sat.
« on: December 08, 2011, 04:19:11 pm »
The Mitchell Shire Recreation Motorcycle Club is having its last ride day for the year on the natural terrain track at Broadford this Saturday, with a shower or two predicted for Fri & Sat, conditions will be fantastic!  I will run around with the grader tomorrow so the day starts out dead smooth  :-)

To ride for the day is only $10 if you're a Mitchell Club member with a race licence, $20 for a one-day licence.  Accepting 2012 club membership on the day, $50 for a single rider or $70 for a family.

If you can't make it on Sat, Sunday is the last Mega Ride Day for the year; all tracks bar Roadrace & dirt-track.

General Discussion / Riders wanted to join Vic club
« on: December 07, 2011, 11:53:07 pm »
Hey Guy's,

Myself (President) and another ozvmx forum contributor (Secretary) have taken committee positions on the Mitchell Recreation Motorcycle Club; this club use to be called the Broadford Motorcycle Club, we only ride at Broadford on a monthly basis, and only on a recreational basis. We like to ride on a circuit that is machine & rider friendly; this I'm sure would be welcomed by you old farts  ;-)

We welcome any of you that would like to get involved; I know that a few of you are already members; with a more prominent 'vintage' crew, a track prepared to our liking is more likely.

General Discussion / What forks are these?

The frame number denotes RM125B but the forks aren't, the caps do not have air valves, they are old school (older school?  lol) the caps have a square drive recess under a flat rubber cap and are held in with a circlips (like my old Gemini Boss 80 caps), they are 36mm tubes.

General Discussion / Any contacts for vegetable oil?
« on: December 04, 2011, 09:07:52 pm »
Hey Guy's,

At Broadford today the natural terrain track was so dusty, and the bulldust was NO FUN to ride on.  I've come up with this idea, I want to put vegetable oil down to keep the dust under control and give the bulldust some 'body'.  I figure that vegetable oil would be epa friendly and ex cooking oil would be free or quite cheap (if the bio-fuel guys don't snap it up).

Do any of you know where I can get about a 1000 litres of any kind of vegetable oil (be it Canola, peanut, what ever)?

Anyone got any idea's where I could start looking?

On ebay I saw an RM125B frame, footpegs, triple-clamps, good forks & front wheel, I had no money so I just bid $50, and I won them!

« on: November 29, 2011, 04:40:34 pm »
The Mega Ride Day is on at Broadford this Sunday, I've ripped the Natural terrain track, with showers forecast in the lead-up to the weekend, the track will be BLOODY AWESOME! ...... no mud, no dust .... what more could you ask for?

I think I have to fulfill coaching duties at the dirttrack so I may miss-out  :-(

Weather and track conditions are looking good for a ride this Sat at Broadford.  To get our 'free' ride, we have to do a working bee first, so clean up some tree branches laying around, throw a few rocks off the track, work 10am to 12 noon, then ride all arvo  :-)

If you you're interested email me so I know who's coming [email protected]

I just graded the natural terrain track at Broadford, with the prospect of showers coming during the week and on the weekend, the track will be awesome!

If we have a working bee (pick up a few sticks) in the morning, we can ride for free in the arvo.

Any Victorian guys interested, send me an email if you're up for it, we can confirm once we see how the weather will be as the weekend gets closer.
