Competition / Re: Classic Nats in Sept
« on: September 08, 2018, 07:38:48 pm »
Hi guys,
I’m out at the Ararat track this weekend as my boys are racing the Western Regions being held here. The club has presented us with a very well prepared track and facilities, for all those that have entered I’m positive you will be glad you did as this track will be awesome to race on. I look forward to watching the Aussies at this place, see you in 2 weeks.  Peter.

General Discussion / Re: New hips, woohoo!
« on: November 28, 2016, 07:27:38 pm »
I spoke to your doctor and he is positive your old hips wore out from all the years of trying to start those Husky things you ride. He recommended you only ride a Yamaha from now on as they start first kick and your hips will love you for it.
The only problem that i can see with you riding a Yamaha is the speed difference from what you have been used to, future crashes may happen at a much higher speed.  ;)

Good to hear you finally had them replaced and not living on pain killers 24/7.

Hope you're all good John. My theory is that we're given a "finite" number of heartbeats at birth & it's in all our best interests to keep fit as possible to keep our resting heartbeats as low as possible. Once you use your heartbeats up it's all over! My resting heart rate at 53  is 46BPM (same as when I was 25 playing football), so if my theory works I should last longer than someone of the same age who's heart rate is 80bpm (barring a life ending accident). No science here, just a theory & a bit of motivation to continue to exercise to keep fit enough, for long enough, to do the things I want to.
K

Fark good theory Mick,
but i have witnessed you trying hard to stop your heart beat several times over the last few years. Remember what i call those Huskys, they're bad for your health.  ;)

Hope all goes to plan John.

Hmmm, I haven't read the rules yet but from what you guys are saying; I can now use my '79 KX250/400 with the stock '84 KX125 front forks  :-)  Might have to dust it off and get a race licence again  :-)

Your bike might fit the rules now but all the trick hardware in your body wasn't available in that era.  ;)

Welcome Danny,
Good to hear you have the VMX bug and I'm sure we will see you at a few Viper meets this year. I remember looking over your bike when you came for a ride at my place, it took me a while to work out if it was still brand new or restored.  Peter.

Camping in the pits was allowed,
this included riding your bike to and from the track at walking pace.

General Discussion / Re: Euro bikes - Husky
« on: April 21, 2015, 10:20:56 pm »
ok i been reading a bit on here about Huskies. i have never ridden a Husky and starting to wonder what the attraction is?
i Know Big K is converted. tell me what the appeal is.

Yes i am serious.

There is no appeal Hoony don`t be an idiot, are you loosing your mind ?
and as for Big K don`t let him lead you into the danger zone, he has a bent valve but won`t admit it.  I see him on the track every now and then but mostly with a plug spanner in his hand and a box of plugs nearby just to get his best one going. Now lets discuss the YAMAHA that you really want.   ;)

P.S. just before all you Husky lovers start to throw all of your broken parts at me i`m only taking the piss at Hoony.  ok.

Tech Talk / Re: Trick Race Tech Shocks.
« on: February 07, 2015, 06:56:54 pm »
You guys are so ill informed. It's easy to start a left side kick bike (the correct side of the engine for a kicker by the way) & they are way more reliable than the Nipponese offerings. Get with the strength of Swedish excellence& you'll never look back.
K

Ha ha, yes Husky's are easy to start if you know how...

All 3 of those bikes could well and truly use a set of those Race Tech shocks instantly, the bikes would`t bottom out just from trying to start them.   ;)

I have just learned something myself from those pictures, i now understand why someone has to follow these guys thru the bush on a Yamaha with an alloy stand strapped to their backpack. See ya learn something everyday. :o :o
