General Discussion / Re: anyone nead any casting made for old bikes
« on: September 21, 2017, 09:59:07 pm »
Lozza,
2 pieces there, there is the combustion chamber (inside piece) that bolts to the top of the liner and then the outer cover bolts down over that to the outside of the barrel/water jacket. The spark plug hole is raised on the combustion chamber part and the outer cover has a hole that fits over/around it, and there is an 'O' ring between the two for the water seal, my TSS post has a few photos that might help.

Got me a head and barrel, only taken 9 months, now the only thing missing is a top cover

Hi KDX, how much work is it to make one of these without a master to work from, only the top cover needed not the seperate combustion chamber shown in the underneath shot

Road bikes using a cantilever rear suspension first started with ASL in 1906, then NSU in 1909, Perry Vale in 1910. Flying Merkel and Matchless both had cantilever suspension in 1914-15. Vincent-HRD introduced the twin shock Cantilever in 1940's. Lucien Tilkens had a prototype dirt bike single shock cantilever on a CZ in the late 60's and a Suzuki in 1971. Neither company progressed with the idea. Yamaha had a Tilkens cantilever on their works bikes in 1973 and used on their production bikes in 1974/5. Hope this helps ????.

David,
As Moto said, # 493 is a '77 to '79 gold medal frontera, # 49 is a '68 to '71 Sherpa T. # 24 is a '66 to '70 TSS water cooled but the cases would be stamped # 600. If you can post photos we can help you out. P.S. If they are TSS cases can I have first offer  :) pleease

Guys FYI,
Had a guy contact me through an American VMX site in response to an add I put in for a head and barrel for the TSS. Knew it was a scam but I thought I would share it with you. Asked him for photos and the engine number to make sure it was for the correct model. He tried hard.

This one has the engine number, BSA C15T 748MOE, and a photo of his TSS. Love to know where he got the picture from?

Been stashed in the back of the shed for 20 years, pulled it out and gave it a wash a couple of weeks ago, came up OK. My poor mans triumph

Mick,
Thanks for your support and appreciation of the finer points of the Spanish machines, Spain is pretty close to Italy.....  :)

Been talking with John, going down for a visit after Easter to see him.
You will have to introduce me to Richard M.

Talking with Kevin Breedon in the UK (thanks Murph) he has directed me back to a contact in Spain. Wish I was getting frequent flyers for all the miles my emails are covering.
