Riding Spots / Kids practice paddock
« on: December 03, 2015, 11:48:50 pm »
Hello

Does anybody have or know of a paddock / property to teach kids to ride a 4 stroke motorbike on within an hour of Maitland. I know there are clubs and Singleton MC track but just looking for some open space on private property to teach the kids the basics before letting them loose around other riders. The bike is very quite and we are not going to rip up the place.

Please post or PM me.

Cheers
Jase.

General Discussion / Re: East Coast vintage
« on: June 06, 2015, 05:44:37 pm »
I bought a bike off Jason at East Coast Vintage a few years back and paid the $900 shipping only to have extra costs once it landed in Sydney which I expected but not the amount I paid. Customs and the Port authority hold you to ransom until you pay their fees and I failed quarantine checks so the cost just keep mounting up. If you buy go with someone who ships it end to end with no middle man. Should expect to pay around $2000 including freight at both ends.

The bikes looked better in the photos than in the flesh and Jason was good to deal with until I struck problems my end ,after that he didn’t respond to any of my emails or calls.
I would buy local so at least you can have a good look at it. Still doesn’t mean it not going to have problems. Good Luck.

I'm not sure what type of swing arm it is as that what it came with when I bought the bike. Does the job and looks great.

Thanks g465b for the colour ('phlolina yellow'), it's also been suggested that I match the tank to the plastics.

« on: November 21, 2013, 03:05:51 am »
Hello

Does anybody know the paint colour or code for a 1976 RM370A. I want to repaint the tank and would like to use the original colour if possible, if not could someone suggest a colour that is a close match.

Thanks
Jase

I'm not sure what video format or file size you have but Handbrake is a free video encoder, it's easy to use with different output formats and quality setting to reduce the file size.

Dealers / Re: 1979 KX250 A5 for sale with Fox Air Shocks

My bike finally arrived in Sydney and after a week or 2 of hold up's and problems getting past Customs and Quarantine I have collected it from the warehouse. The whole procedure has been a roller coaster ride and very steep learning curve from my end. I would make sure if you are going to import a bike do a lot of research before hand and get a fixed price for shipping door to door as costs really add up once the bike arrives in Australia.

My bike failed quarantine checks and to pass Quarantine the bike had to be cleaned and the crate destroyed. This left me out of pocket after I had to pay the clean up bill from Quarantine. I'm sure if more care was taken with the cleaning and crating of the bike before exporting this would of been avoided.

So again make sure you do your research before importing a bike from the US and select your exporter/importer carefully as if thing go wrong you will be left to clean up the mess and pay the bills.

Hi
I'm waiting on a Suzuki RM370 I bought from East Coast Vintage MX back in late November, all going well should be here by the end of January. Once the bike was loaded on the ship it will take less then a month to get to Sydney and all up around 2 months for the whole purchase and delivery, but as I haven't received the bike yet that might change. I will post an update once the bike lands in Sydney.

I have found Jason from East Coast Vintage MX in the USA to be a decent person to deal with and helpful along the way.
