Suzuki / Re: Suzuki still selling new TS185's!!!!!

i slipped my TS 125 motor straight into an rm 125 S frame for a cool trail bike back in the late 70's corked teh crank on the ts, tried the rm pipe but it didnt work until the ts ran out of ports and carb so used the stock ts pipe. was great to ride....the rm 125 s motor in the ts frame was a weapon! especially as it had no rear brakes ( i had to use the cable on the rm) ..i was giving it a run at a local riding spot when ol mate rocked up in a car full of hoons and wanted a ride....after 3 hard gears he went for the brake.. panicked pulled the front on hard and bit the ground hard :o.. no helmet.. he was in loose tooth city for a week ;D

Get on to Cafe Husky on FB, there is a vid on how to set the kicker up....you should never pull it apart unless it needs servicing.

i'm searching info and real stories about  frame fabrications from scratches..plenty for harleys and choppers, nothing for vinduro\cross\twinshocks dirty thumpers?

Kawasaki / Re: 87 KDX200 Help Needed

The airscrew is not having any effect because 1: there is an air leak somewhere... engine seals? base gasket, inlet reed rubber / gasket.. pull the flywheel off and spray wd 40 on the seal and kick it over, it will bubble if its snuffed. Check under your carb inlet as they can split but hide due to the weight of the carb holding it together. 2: if the pilot and needle jet are too far wrong, it can overwhelm the airscrew. if you can ..pressure test the engine and if its ok, you probably need to change the needle (richer?? )and rejet again your pilot and then the airscrew should work... ::)

something is decidedly off there...they arent much different to kick than the 200...try a second head gasket in it. it should start 1st or second kick off the choke

Friend has lots of dx's inc 240's. he jetted his a bit richer and its running fine, others have issues and try head mods, its the shape which causes detonation...another solution i have heard is the exhaust stinger is too small causing overheating and possibly the detonation.. GMC has a pipe or is making one to suit? plenty of discussion on this one.

good to see you are still dropping in here, i find facebook full of "Ive got one of those"(we are all guilty) and its hard to find good details wheras the older forums while clunky still seem a good source of hard info. the bikes are coming along nicely!

the whole point of the centre bleed is to have a complete pointy cone end to the pipe which sends a complete reverse wave back to the exhaust port therefore giving better performance by holding more charge in the cyl instead of loosing a tad through the stinger hole in the wave. a block should have some effect i guess but who knows. a dyno before and after is the only real answer and its probably a gnats difference anyway..looks way cool!
