a PHBE Dellorto is a 2 stroke carb . it can be used in a 4 stroke but you have to shorten the emulsion tube .

it has been a while but a little update on the bike .

engine build is done . i put a HPI ignition on it and it is a first or 2nd kick starter . very nice idle and it pulls like a freight train from low down . i did not put this engine on the dyno but it should have 38 / 40 rw hp

My Belgium friend Herman's  pre 65 Ducati's  . engines are 1963 four speed 250's taken out to 370cc

front wheel is from a Moto Morini Kanguro . for the rear i wanted something with a rubber mounted sprocket carrier to make things easy on the gearbox . found out a Yamaha XT 350 has a transmission damper in the hub and its pretty light .

front forks i made myself . sliders are Betor from a Cagiva . stancions are from a Honda VTR 250 and have sliding bushings . i had the cagiva sliders honed 1mm bigger for the bushings .
made damperrods out of 6061 aluminum and had them hard anodized .
put racetech emulators on top of the rods .
tripple clamps are Marzocchi .

i would not worry about that . i put 24.5 mm long timeserts in the cases .
never had a problem in 25 years roadracing Ducati singles .

eBay Finds / Re: Ducati 450 aftermarket motocross frame.

this is a home made Cheney look alike for a Ducati narrowcase

engine is a  250 cc to comply with the pre 65 rules . it got a 350 crank and barrel and measures 344 cc

i did a little cilinderhead work for this engine . moved the inlet to middle to line up with the aircleaner . put valves in with a 7 mm stem and a coil spring conversion . welded up the sparkplug hole and put a 10 mm plug as high in the combustionchamper as possible
put in scrambler camshaft first but i had very little power . changed to a Mach 1 camshaft and that really  woke up the engine
