Yamaha / YZ250E Pipe

Hi All

Does anyone know if a YZ250F pipe and muffler fits a YZ250E???

I'd like a DG pipe for my E but they just aren't available any more anywhere. So I'm curious to know what is the difference and if it is minor how much modification it needs to fit. Is it just a nip and tuck or it it major??

Or does anyone have a good second hand "DG" YZ250E pipe they would part with?

Any information appreciated..............

Wanted / Complete Rear Wheel for DT1F

Hi All

Looking for a reasonable or better DT1-F rear wheel. I'm not sure if all DT1's have the same wheel but I'll take what I can get. Does not have to be smart just rust free if possible.

Genuine one's don't exist from Yamaha!!!!
I've got a fresh one all wrapped up I got from a shop in Mudgee. I've seen Evilbay in the states have them listed for $300+ USD's.

I think the Prox rod for the 5X5 (250) does the job and I'm told it is stronger (better main bearing) than the original and a lot cheaper than the others.

The clues all point to an AT2-3

Sunken letters and from the photos a reed valve. Good news is it's the one off evilbay and as it turn out the seller is a very old friend who I haven't seen in years. He had heaps of other AT stuff which he's thrown in. Wheels, electrics, gaskets etc and the the part that you were after, a reasonable exhaust with a good 125 shield!
That's yours if you want it.

DG26 is picking it up today.

Hi all
Looking for a bit of help.
Where do I find the model numbers for AT1 to 3 series including AT1MX etc?
I think it goes something like this, AT1-0XXXX is an actual AT1.....
AT1-1XXXXX is the AT2 etc....
Where does the AT1MX numbers start (& finish)?

I'm curious about an AT1-444125 as to what it is???

A friend of mine put a XL500 motor into an early Husky frame about 15 years ago. I seem to remember that the frame was a '77 125. The work involved a lot of squeezing and a few cuts with the red knife.

I think the bike is still at Parkes and have always meant to chase it up. I never saw it going but I was told it was a monster in all but a straight line!

I'll have to follow that one up.

I could be off the track here but the USA Yamaha parts pages have the Tech Bulletins within them. I seem to remember a reading of a mod in one of them to elongate the shifter claw to allow additional rotation of the shift drum in one direction. This may be to get the drum to rotate the smidgen more to totally engage 1st gear.

Might help! At least you don't have to split the box "again".......
Other alternative is to check the box side float. Another bulletin talks about the correct shims and that can be between the gears that are not meshing!

Good luck, one screw won't fix this.

Looks aren't everything!

I'm just taken a lunch break trying to sort sort out the last things on a YZ250 project! I see a midnight session upon me to be ready to be picked up at sparrows fart tomorrow.

Hope your bringing other bikes including the AT1!
