I'm searching for 70mm piston, with 28mm deck height
& 67-68mm piston w circa 25mm deck ht,

both with 18mm gudgeon & no reed holes

Honda / Identifying CR-M shocks

I have a set of early (73-74) CR alloy bodied shocks that I'm trying to identify.

They have 12.5mm shafts & dual springs, one 5.5mm dia wire & the other 7.5mm dia.

Can any of the honda experts tell me if they're 125 or 250 shocks?

Kawasaki / F11M project

I'm seriously thinking of parting w my F11M project. Haven't done anything on it in last few years due to declining health, so I'll probably never complete it.

Whats there is:

F11M frame & swingarm, tho' the rear subframe has been cut & shut for laid down shocks
F11M barrell
F11M ign (rotor & stator)
KX downpipe - needs new header & 1st diffuser cone
Alternative NOS Bassani up-pipe
KX450 plastic tank
KX450 forks, probably need rechroming
2x F11 bottom ends (one w the semi-close ratio g'box; one w wider ratios)
F11 barrel & 2x F11 heads
spare F11 clutch cover that could be shaped somewhat like F11M
F'glass airbox (non original) & KX rubber connector (airbox to carb)
F11 rear wheel (alloy rim) - similar to F11M wheel but not exactly same
F11 front wheel (alloy rim)
KX125 steel-based seat or PE250 plastic-based seat (either could fit) - need recovering

Frame is genuine F11M # 151 (& very light)

As you probably know, only about 200 F11Ms were ever made

I'm not after an arm & a leg. Just don't want to be ripped off, or rip anybody off

Any Monty experts who can tell me how to remove the swingarm's pivot sleeve from the swingarm on a 247 Cota (Mk5)?

The swingarm is out of the frame OK & the pivot shaft/bolt is also out, but I can't get the sleeve out of the bushes.

When I try pressing it thro, it wants to 'pick up' the bush & take it right thro the other side (whichever side I try it from) & just seizes up.

Any tricks to this? Am I missing something?

(Or for N,T pistons as I think they're the same)

Yeh, I know its not VMX, but they use the same engines.  Here's some pics, with comments from Lyall on some of his engine wizardry:

"Early development of 350 r/r. (De) stroked motor by 1mm, 347cc. Riders Craig Morris & Terry Morris. Won 3 Vic titles & 2- 2nd in national titles.  Motor stock put out 38bhp @7000rpm at crank. Final development with pipe photo enclosed & six port cylinder & head work 52bhp @ 8200rpm at rear wheel on alcohol. 38mm Amal. Internal rotor electrics late model Montesa. All genuine montesa parts only used"




"Final development of 250 r/r. (Originally 250 Impala road bike) 26bhp @ 8000rpm at crank (std). Last of 4 built. 38bhp @ 8500rpm at rear wheel on alcohol. 36mm Amal. Approx 12 Vic state titles. 2 national titles. All std Montesa parts used. Bored flywheels to take 20mm crankpin from later model to take INA big end bearing. Since 1991 never had a blow up as the revs were never over 9000rpm"
