Way to organised, I could never find anything ;D
My mate has a garage (too nice to call a shed) like this complete with pristine bikes that never get ridden.
For one thing its the sort of place the missus and kids would be comfy in and before long they would have all of there stuff in there.
And all that cleaning takes up valuable work, fun and drinkin' time ;)
-
Is he Gay or just anal?
-
He must not do any work in there . How can he find anything the floor is clean thats the first place I look for tools ,parts . ;D
-
What no marine carpet on the floor?
-
Bugger the garage, I love his choice in motorcycles! ;D ;D ;D
-
Not even an oil stain!! That's just a loungeroom without carpet!! ::) ;)
-
Even has a wood fire to keep them warm on those winter nights ;) He must be single to ;D
-
Please .Let me balance that remarkable Ducati play suite with some reality :D(http://i951.photobucket.com/albums/ad360/tdee754/104_0096_zps014b3212.jpg)(http://i951.photobucket.com/albums/ad360/tdee754/104_0094_zps1de3c812.jpg)(http://i951.photobucket.com/albums/ad360/tdee754/104_0093_zps2d806d2e.jpg)(http://i951.photobucket.com/albums/ad360/tdee754/104_0092_zps0426319c.jpg)(http://i951.photobucket.com/albums/ad360/tdee754/104_0091_zps5a7518d7.jpg)
The owner of this troglodyte cave has video surveillance installed now 8)

You must hit things a lot, Tim. ;)
How many ball pene hammers does one need? :D :D :D
-
Just went out and did a quick count of the pein hammers I could see....24 Shite!!!!!
-
Tim i am impressed
-
i'm with Hoony...thats a real shed
tony
-
looks like my shed but with out the tools, no room on my walls for tools and no room to move around but mine has air conditioning
-
Now thats a normal shed , but theres a few spanners through, they may have been on special ;D
well done.
-
Spanner collection nearly all old Sidchrome, have been collecting them since I was about ten. Do I really need 32 1/2inch - 9/16th ringies well yep :D :D :D :D :D :D
What's on shadow boards is just the day to day use ones.
-
You must hit things a lot, Tim. ;)
How many ball pene hammers does one need? :D :D :D
Forget the hammers...How many shifters ( adjustable wrench ) does one require :o :o :o
-
You da man Tim ;D
-
You got a fetish for ring spanners and Honda SL tanks?
Looks like you've got a shifter for every size bolt.. ;)
-
Whitworth and British Aircraft Fine sized ones too . But you all lie when say you never use an AFS* wrench ;)
*AFS being the correct terminology for a shifting spanner/wrench . Any F**king Size......
-
I call mine an 'all-rounder' - as it rounds off the nuts and bolts. One spanner fits all
-
Thanks Tim for posting a photo of a normal shed. I can sleep peacefully tonight
-
My little bit of heaven.

You must hit things a lot, Tim. ;)

I was thinking the same! All those hammers and only two hands!
cheers

Using the Jag bonnet as a work bench...nice touch
-
Looks like a swingarm of the gods in the making on the purple box in the first photo as well Firko.

What no marine carpet on the floor?
In my new line of work I get to see a few peoples garages and there is a lot of marine carpeting going on. Lots of guys have hoists, tyre machines, walls of Snap on.
I like a clinical workshop where everything has its place and everything is clean. Just built a seperate shed for all the future projects so that all the dirty stuff stays outside.
We sold a 30k 4 post hoist the other day to a guy (former iconic Aussie rocker) who wanted to see 'under' his Lambo, not work on it but just see under it ;D

Hey Firko ,what were you working on to bend the handle on the vice? That is a big vice with a big handle :)

While those palaces are without doubt very nice :) most blokes on the forum live and work in the real world and carry out their activities in sheds like Tims and Firkos ;)

Yeah thats fair enough everyone has their own style of working. But with all your garage stuff, benches, storage, hoists being pretty affordable thanks to the Chinese, I get to see some really well decked out garages around the country owned by real world guys. This is a great website with heaps of 'how to do its' which has a great range of both old school sheds and cleanliness freaks workshops.

Went to a farmers place the other day who collects Shelby Stangs...... lot of alloy chequer plate and marine carpets
In the unlikley event i will ever have the sort of money to build one of those show palaces i would probably spend that money on some rare bikes that i would like to own and a new basic skyline shed to keep the nice ones in ;) I suppose its about priorities, i will make do with my old molnar hoist , and coats tyre changer and dusty ole shed .
Only bloke i know with a shed like in those photos turned out to have a very different idea of what VMX is to me. But hey its his passion and he does it his way and enjoys it so each to their own :)
-

Sing out when you want to upgrade them Bill I will cut you a deal ;) Yeah I am not saying we all need a million bucks worth of gear, just its become affordable even for the average VMXer to have a pretty professional bench and storage system. I am working out of a 3mx 2m garden shed and front porch at the moment so keeping it real.

Firko whats the head on the bench in first photo left side infront of the RT2m cylinder ?
Iain, it's a Jones DT1 head as seen in the centre below
(http://i1112.photobucket.com/albums/k495/firko2/HindallDT1348.jpg)
Webco, Jones and ACK DT1 heads.
Using the Jag bonnet as a work bench...nice touch
Nope, never. What you can see is a jug sitting on my toolbox trolley.
Hey Firko ,what were you working on to bend the handle on the vice? That is a big vice with a big handle
I've often wondered the same thing...I found the vice in a skip years ago, did some minor repairs and it's beeen a good and humble servant ever since.
Looks like a swingarm of the gods in the making on the purple box in the first photo as well Firko.
Nothing so exotic, it's merely an old BSA B44 swingarm that I was doing some work on for a mate.
I like the lived in feel of a well used shed. I have a mate who's into street rods and his garage is done up like a fifties milk bar, juke box and all. As cool as it is for parties, it doesn't seem right to actually work in it. My shed looks messy (and I guess it is) but I know where nearly everything is and I've got most of the stuff a proper blokey shed needs. I'm an incurable tool and gizmo junky so there's no shortage there and I've got shitloads of storage thanks to old shelving from a closed down Black Stump restaurant and 8 used $10 filing cabinets off eBay. My main bench started life as a part of a sheet folding machine at an industrial laundry and my small stainless steel engine building bench was once used in that same Black Stump restaurant for food preparation. I've got a full sized 'fridge with 40 years worth of sticker history and a bunch of boutique beer and cider, a classic Marantz sound system and best of all in this stinkin' summer, air conditioning. I've also got a 3m x 3m garden shed for the future projects and I have some other bikes at a mates place. I'm soon to build another 3 metre garden shed to hold my completed bikes in one place away from all of the possible mishaps in the garage.
-
Tim and Firko, now thats a shed ;) what could you do in that girls garage except bake scones ???
-
Speaking of man caves I just downsized froma single car garage to a workshop around half the size.
Shit its a mission trying to downsize to fit.
-
I've got one of these................

I would like a flash shed, but I can't put stuff away, it does my head in. Tim and Firko's sheds are super neat, tidy and organised compared to mine.
-
Had double garage just for the bikes at my last place which was real luxury, its pretty tidy and certainly not a real manly shed
For benches I like to have a couple of rolling tool boxes, one for tools and one for parts, work bench and tear down bench are also handy, and parts washer that doubles as bench top. Any grinding and welding or other dirty shit happens outside in the driveway.

Yeah thought there were more than a few bikes missing
-
Hey Bill I take it from the Rising Sun Hinomaru gas tank you are planning on joining the Bozozoku
The Rising Sun, Nisshoki, fuel tank is on a long term bobber project that is being built from a combination of TT500, SR500 and various other Yamaha bits.
Here are a few shots of the fuel tank;

In my limited understanding of Japanese, Hinomaru is the Japanese National flag, and Nisshoki was the Japanese Naval Ensign as used during WW2.
The calligraphy are the Kanji characters for Jinrai (Thunder God / Thunder Clap), which will be the name of the bike when it is finished.

They had a fuggin' big Jinrai over Hiroshima in 1945.......

Yeah I couldn't remember Nisshoki off the top of my head but that is correct. I take it you are going full Bozo style and will ride about at 10,000 rpm with open pipe riding the clutch and blipping the throttle ;D

...and will ride about at 10,000 rpm with open pipe riding the clutch and blipping the throttle ;D
The engine has been bored and stroked to 600cc, so revs much above about 6500rpm will probably make a lot of noise as the conrod exits through bottom of the cases!

Colj is that a 125 or 250 TL I see? Cheers Tim754
PS nice shed keeping !Mine used to be overrun with bikes and projects too, but the storage shed fire and .....age...... has made me decimate the collection down to the pittance you can see some of, now ;)

It's a 1975 TL250, I bought it last year to make my solo trails come back (I have mainly ridden trials sidecars since 1979) riding in the Post Classic class, but injuries stopped me from riding any events. I will be having another try this season.
I have three TL125 hidden further back in the shed. Two 1976 TL125S's, one original in good running condition and one wreck, plus a wreck of a 1974 model. I intend to make a sleeper out of one of the wrecks as I have an XR200 and a CT185 engines on the shelf and want to one day see if I can build a larger capacity bitsa with these parts.

-
Oh what's with this Broken Hill weather you be sharing about :D
I left the Hill in 1987, and have only been back to visit freinds and family since then, so you can blame me. Mind you, it has been nice an hot in here in the Mid North of SA where I currently live (Clare) and work (Jamestown). Thursday was basically a no work day, most of the techs, including myself took RDOs the temp was forecast for the mid-high 40, fire dange Extreme, and electricity prices high, so AGL, the site owners, decreed that no turbines could be shut down for maintenance.
