Title: Double the Dirt!!
Post by: jackiemac on June 18, 2012, 01:08:36 pm
Double the Dirt - Double the fun 14th and 15th July!!
Two days of riding, Saturday Dirt track, Sunday over on the vintage track.

This is an interclub event between BMCC - QVMX - and NBJMCC

If you are not a member of either of these clubs, and want to join in on two awesome days of riding, reduced membership rates available, please contact Lenore Galley A/H 0421 372 982.

PLEASE NOTE: Entries close on 6th July - no entries taken after this date!

Saturday there will be tyre changing available, our favorite caterers Helen and her crew will be there both days, and Saturday night. Camping is always welcomed, pitch your tent over in the BMCC pit area, Saturday night gather round the fire with fellow riders, have a few drinks and reflect on your days racing. Sunday get up and do it all again on the Vintage track. After racing is finished on Sunday afternoon, we will be having awards/prize giving.

Keep Smiling  :)

Is the event open to all QVMX or just up to Pre 85? If so not really a inter club event just invite half of em.

there is a dirt track practice day on 30june/ 1st july not sure - you'd have to check the NBJMCC website. You can ride whatever you like, not sure if you need to join the club or not.

Practice at Nudgee on Sunday the 1st of July. Your only chance to get some bike time in before Double the Dirt.
Bring your entry forms along to the practice for D&D and save on postage, this will also assist in preparing for the event.

There will be no late entries accepted so make sure you get your entry in before Friday the 6th.

Lots of entries for the scrambles on Sunday - does everyone know that 2 entries are necessary, one for each day?

why wouldn't that surprise the punters.. fuk if they make it any more diffiucult they'll have to do a course on how to fill out an applicaion to apply for an approval to submit a form to be a approved participant!!!! now if the form they so patiently tped n put up on the site was able to be filled out n submitted straight back on line that would prob get 70% IN STRAIGHT AWAY... oh but it doesn't have a signature!!!! well we have to front n show id n sign indemnity..21st century logic.. bring your Iphone n we'll make an APP!!

Gentlemen, you have always had to fill out two entry forms ??? the entry forms to be downloaded are on the BMCC website under supp regs, they have also been posted on this site, on our calendar, and emailed to those who are members of our website. Unfortunately we can not please everyone with how things are done, but the club does its best to ensure you all have a good ride, and an enjoyable day :) These events take planning, no APP for that! If the club's volleenteers can spend their time organising the event, preparing tracks, stewards, flaggies, etc, etc, surely it is not to much to ask, that you press print on your computer, fill out your entry form, pop it in an envelope, stick a stamp on it, and put it in the post, or even scan it into your computer and email it ???

Keep Smiling :)

Well some of us do nothing for the club, yet bitch and moan about trivial things while others give of what little time they have so we have somewhere to ride. Thank god for people such as Jackie. I can't believe that they have to put up with such negativity. Tm man for president next time around seeing as you obviously can do things so much better. Dust that wallet off and buy a 50 dollar printer . Oh, and no offence.

Hmmm! what a dissapointing response, I don't understand your attitude, funny you should bring up entering online though, because we are already looking into that. your printer problem is understandable tmman,  you can get fill an entry in this Sunday (practice day), if your not going perhaps someone can pick one up for you? or If you like we could mail one out to you,  its as easy as a phone call,...and as far your personal comment towards me, I do take offense, you have got no idea!!

Thanks Brad, much appreciated!

good call,we also had to shut our track 3 weeks before an event as the prepwork would of been very costly if we didnt, as it was we only had to do a couple of laps with the drag and touch up with loader.  :)

Seriously though, much thanks to all those who put in the effort behind the scenes to keep this whole deal feasible. The 'skulk' of Fox's are punching well above their weight in terms of their collective efforts in QLD VMX.

As mentioned there is a working bee on at Nudgee to prepare for Double the Dirt.
For those club members who have been unable to assist in the running of meetings, track maintenance and the Classic moto cross championships this is a perfect opportunity to help your club.
If we get enough people we should be able to get most of the work done in half a day. If 10 members who have not helped previously could be at the Nudgee track by 8.30 am on Saturday the 7th July this would be a great help.
If you are unable to help on Saturday I have jobs on both race days that need doing prior and during the event that will still enable you to race.

So.....what gives?? we had a list as long as my short arm back there in the thread of those possibles and probables-so where are they all??
This is a great 'low key' event that gives us a chance to 'give it' to the opposition
Dirt Tracker vs Motos or vice versa and the BMCC has had the tradition going back a lot of years.....why no entries??
Do we have to up the start money-that'll cut into the advertising and prize pool!

oh braddles why would i want to buy a 50 buk printer to print out a couple a pages a year.. last one i had the ink dried thru lack of use and collectin dust..i'd rather DONATE the 50 buks to gettin the system into the 21st century..as for bein president!!!! well you don't like me know so you would definitely not like my policies..
Title: Re: Double the Dirt!!

I have a problem with anyone that has a go at people that give of their free time so I/ we have somewhere to ride. It's a thankless task as it is without people having a go at them, good reason or not. Also the fact that you only ride once or twice a year and find its it's all too hard to enter is still your problem, not any body else's.
Title: Re: Double the Dirt!!
Post by: EML on July 05, 2012, 04:31:18 pm
Or we could make the club a professional promoter and run it like a business, but then everyone would moan when the fees went up and there was too much dust or too much mud and when the trophies were too small or the wrong colour etc...etc....-hang on-they do that now!!
Title: Re: Double the Dirt!!
Post by: tmman on July 05, 2012, 05:31:25 pm
i was not having a go at any one per say,, maybe it was out of context well so be it,, and it doesn't matter if i ride 2 or 200 times a year...some people!!! are asking where the entries are,,well if the system was up to the task there would be more showing up on line instead of everyone waiting till the last minute to run out n post,, cause it is such a lovely system..may be good for aust post share holders but not for time management...anyway i'll be there on satuday if you want come n have a chat...

i will be there ready to go. Maybe running in the maico but looking forward to the weekend. Will be out there tomorrow morning to help clean the mx track up. Would be good to see new face's out there even if they only ride once or ten times a year. Many hands make light work. There are more ways to support a club than just paying your membership and turn up riding after the work is all done.  How are the numbers going Miss Mac.... you do a great job..... ;D

Thanks for the update Jackie.  For those of us that couldn't make it this coming weekend and therefore didn't enter, is there a possibility that we could enter now?  Or are entries closed and holding?

Thanks
Craig

Hi,
Pity about this weekend .
just a reminder to the Dirt track riders,especially the newbies :rule 18.1.2.4;
"Dirt track riders must wear a commercially manufactured back protector , which continuously covers the back area between the collar line and the base of the spine ".
not a requirement for Classic Motocross, but  recommended,
cheers

You will never know unless you ask the right person ;D give Lenore a call and say PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE :D ;D :D ;D :D and make sure you put your entry in pronto ;)

We had good numbers for both days, and hope that this delay does not hinder the event, we truely are sorry to all those that were making the trip up or down, it was unfortunate that we had to cancel, but the weather is something which none of us can control, as said in my earlier post we are hoping to hold the event this weekend, but once again we are in the hands of the rain gods, I will keep you all updated during the week, fingers crossed we have sunshine :)

Keep Smiling :)

Sorry Craig, yes you can enter, no need to call Lenore :)
I have to say, while helping Lenore with the program, I couldn't believe how many entries were not filled in correctly, so at times we had to play the guessing game, so to anyone who would like to enter,Pleeease ensure both entries are filled in correctly, no phone entries   and received by Wednesday ;)

Just a quick update on the track. All looks good for the weekend and if we have have a few more sunny days the track will be perfect.
As previously mentioned if you were unable to attend last weekend and can do so this weekend, we will accept your entry up until COB Wednesday.
Don't bother trying to enter on the day we will not accept it.

Just would like to thank those members who attended the working bee at Nudgee to prepare the track for Double the Dirt. Due to your efforts we have a great track to race on this weekend.

BMCC Club President.

good and bad news..

bad - no tyre machine at track as the TFB bus is on another mission
good- Dave will open open the TFB shop in Albion on SAT arvo to change tyres, can sort out a ute run of back wheels to the shop etc on the day,
BAD - track still wet
GOOd - Simon Broad spent a while there yesterday with bobcat + excavotor digging drains and prepping, so with a bit luck and quick bit of bobcat work on SAT arvo we will be right for sunday.
No dust guaranteed!
