YZ125 rods/pistons!?
« on: July 30, 2007, 09:46:50 pm »
I'm confused... yes, even more than normal!

I've got a YZ125G basket case. It needs a conrod kit.

I have a new rod for both a D and an L. Which one do I use?

I had always thought that all YZ125s A~G used the same rod, and that all H~N used the same rod (which is about 5mm shorter than the earlier bikes use).
But my bike has an H rod in it??? Wiseco says that C~J pistons are all the same, so the difference isn't there.

Hence my confusion... Help!
The good thing about telling the truth is that you don't have to remember what you said.

The YZ125H rod fits (4v2) into the YZ125G. The 5X4 rod does the J-K-L. And if my memory is right the 3R2 rod is good for the A-C-X-D-E-F. The YZ125N uses 55Y rod. The piston for the G has slimmer rings (3R3) but A-F can use the (2K6) piston and rings. The H-J-K use (5X4) piston and ring (single ring) the L's piston has only one indent around the gudgeon pin and the N's piston doesnt have any indents around the gudgeon pin. The reason for this is that the fuel/air mix can escape around the indents so they didnt put them in those pistons.
