Get it a SodaBlast or soda blasting, either google it. heaps gentle on surface, non abrasive.

I tried heaps of things including the dreaded dettol experience (the smell has at last faded from out back of the shed).  Then I tried Mainlines suggestion - which I bought from a paint shop in Strathpine.  You need to put it on thick and leave it for quite a long time (several hours).  you know its ready when it gets all bubbly on the surface. It can be a mongrel to get off - like shti to a blanket, so have plenty of rags handy and dont forget step 1 - put it on thick.  Doest burn your skin as badly as other strippers which is a side benefit cos I get the stuff everywhere.

As far as getting it off once it's started bubbling, I just pin whatever is I'm working on to an upside down milk crate and blast it with the pressure washer.

Sounds like Stewy may be trying to wrestle it into submission ;D
