I had exactly the same problem a while back. The only way i've since been able to deal with them is request a shipping price first and they will answer, then buy the pipe and pay.

I didn't have any hassles and had a pipe delivered in 8 days for less than half the price available in OZ - so its worth chasing?

Yes JohnnyO is correct send a question to them re the pipe on costs and they will get back to you.

They can be a bit slow at times (answering) but have always delivered quickly, looking at around 50 US for delivery, but a lot more if you need a muffler as well.

DOS will charge you 2 lots of freight if you buy a muffler as well, and then send them in the same box! It's how they work, nothing you can do about it.

Still they are a lot cheaper then anyone else. I thing they work on the view a quick sale is a good sale and price them that way. Hard for anyone in Aus to match that.

I had similar problems buying Nos XT500 sidecovers from the States. I sent about 10 emails over 3-4 weeks, mostly without response and eventually resorted to PayPal dispute resolution centre and after that I got an immediate reply. It's still much cheaper buying direct from the USA, but go with the request for freight costs first idea that works well.

I've just placed an order for a DG pipe with DOS. $150us + $76us postage works out at $270aud. Sent an email first requesting total amount, quick reply with link to pay thru paypal. Hopefully delivery will be just as efficient...

I asked them for shipping costs a few weeks ago so i had an idea what the postage would be. I like buying from the states as they wreck heaps of bikes over there and it its so easy with paypal. Never had a problem till now, but thats been sorted now by the looks.
