1983 Catrol Mr Motocross Video
« on: August 30, 2009, 08:44:21 pm »
Does anyone have a copy of the 1983 Castrol Mr Motocross Video that they are willing to sell or at least copy?

It briefly covered all lead up races that year but had full coverage of the final round held at Broadford featuring that killer RM 500 of Ray Vandenberg.

Hi Zorroz had it converted it to DVD and was selling some copies. Give him a try. I bought one and it has a lot of footage from Broadfoard. Big fan of Rays 500.

Was the vanDenburgh 500 an RM or an RN from the factory.
I recall Suzuki sending an RN over and Stewy McLaughlan riding it around about the same time. It was a monster but Stewy rode it well!!

Back in the sixties I hired a 16mm film from Castrol called 'six of the best' for a film night I put on for the old Merrylands club and visitors. This was one of a list of great films that cASTROL made available to interested groups around that time. I made enquiries of Castrol a few years ago and was informed that all of their film library had been lost in a fire. It just occurred to me that possibly someone with the right connections may find some of these films still survive in 'the old dart'. These would make a great dvd. 'Six of the best' was a compilation of events over a season including Scrambles,Observed trials, Grass track and Dirt Hill Climbs..Great stuff. cheers pancho
dont follow me i'm probably off line!
