Crazy 2nd moto with a 1st win for Goerke on the former Josh Hill factory YZ-courtesy fo Reed's crash( when has Reed crashed?)-and the "Junkyard Dog" 44 yr old John Dowd of Mass. 2nd and Byrne 3rd. Overall was Georke 1st, Byrne 2nd and Dowd 3rd.
Wild finish-the All Aussie podium in 1st moto was cool...and IMO a sign of things to come.
Life is suddenly very Monaro

Yes its fair to say that we have never had a better more competitive team.Alot depends on the MX2 riders and Metcalfe is riding great , beating Dungey in the last moto.It seems that every country has at least one rider that might be a weak link but you can't say that about the Aussies.
Another point in our favor is that the circuit will be rehashed with some "wave" sections etc which will help the riders with SX experience.Last year that was were Stewart could get by Pourcel.
Looking good for us

The effort of Dowd will , as they say in horse racing parlance, go down in the annals of the all time greats. What a ride.  Doug Henry came out at Southwick a couple of years ago , pulled the holeshot and hung around the front for a while, but not the whole moto - and he wasn't 44. I hope the effort of the "Junkyard Dog" sends at least a few of the up and coming fraternity into the "Room of Mirrors" for a good long look at themselves.
