I am taking a guess that most forum members may not understand the significance of this crime. Forget about the Yamaha YZ400M, In modern times (this actual bike) was all but responsible for the resurgence of the four stroke at the pinnacle of world championship racing. Husaberg with Joel Smetts dominated the World MX championships at a time when the 500cc 2 stroke was meant to be the king of all MX bikes. I think the only rider to steal some thunder was Shayne King on a KTM 380SX. For many years I have dreamt of owning at least a replica of this machine and to now find out that it has been stolen guts me so I can only start to understand where Darren's head is at.
Darren and I have spoken about this machine and how I could get my bike to be a faithful representation of it and I was well aware of the passion that Darren had for it. Lets hope that it is some drug f*^#@d arsehole that works out that it can't be onsold or parted out and it turns up somewhere in the very near future unscathed.

Sorry mate, don’t know what to say to you, I just hope that it’s recovered.

Losing an old dunger DT1 to theft is bad enough nut to lose a bike with such historic significance is shattering. If there is any hope to all of this, two seperate thefts of collectable bikes in recent months resulted in the bikes being recovered and the c*#ts who stole them charged so don't give up hope Darren.

Lock up your sheds and immobilise your bikes guys, you may be next.

Sorry to hear about this Bastard act Darren.
I've had a few bikes stolen over the years, nothing as unique as this but personally it cuts pretty deep.
Given how distinguishable this bike is I agree that it will more than likely turn up.
Good luck mate.

Just to let you guys know, there is likely the same gang hitting store after store at the moment. In the last week Sutto's (Penrith) have lost six bikes including Darren's, Cycle City (Taren Point) lost 5 bikes and Southern Highlands Motorcycle Centre (Mittagong) lost 6 bikes. So there are plenty going missing at the moment. Also this year, Western Motorcycles, R & D Husky and Triple R Motorcycles in Western Sydney have also been hit and similar amounts of bikes stolen. Hopefully the cops are putting the pieces together.

What i want to know is where do all these bloody bikes end up???

Luckily Darren's is one of the most unique of the lot and will hopefully turn up at some stage. Good Luck mate, I know my eyes will be open for it.

Mate, I am so sorry to hear about that.  I hope it turns up, the good thing is that it might, rare collectable bikes are usually easier to find and recover than run of the mill ones.

Did I ever say how much I hate crime?

We should reopen Port Arthur and send the scum up who did this there for life.  >:(

FWIW also send info to the bike carriers like fergussons and Adelaide motor cycle recovery etc, those guys move a lot of bike interstate and do lots of home pick ups so they might notice it as they know bikes.  there would be a few more i cant think of right know but aq flyer with the bounty and pic sent to them might make the differance.

Well, Sutto's got hit again last Thursday which is the 3rd time in six weeks!, as well as Westerns once and R and D once.

This morning Stephan applegren was going into work early and spotted a vehicle leaving his building!, followed it whilst calling the police, ended up nabbing them and recovering the newly stolen bikes, so far all I have is that all the stolen bikes are apparently stockpiled in Bonnyrigg (Headed for the middle east no doubt) and that one of the detainees is spilling his guts!

Stay tuned I may just get it back yet!
