I bourght 2 x Harley badges for a mate, the price for FEDEX from US was $48.00, the stupid seller combined my home address with my work address. One call to Fed ex from me and they redirected it to the correct address. This was a typical example of price and cost - worked out for the better this time..

Its not the local bike shops that are the rip offs, its the importers. I have also found motorbike wreckers are a rip off and never have what i want. Go to ebay usa and its all there.

No I have not Paul , just having a chuckle when people buy "new , cheap" gear from USand portaying the the locals as rip offs, and then end up paying more in the end . ;D

Not sure where this came from wasp but if it was my post about the shocks, they were second hand and covered in shit like Pauls motor. If they were new there would be no the cleaning charge just import duty.
BTW I haven't bought a pair of new shocks since I got the over on some Ohlins in 1980.

and I have actually contacted a local importer/wholesaler regards some Thor stuff and he recommended I get it from the States because it was cheaper and would be here in 2 weeks whereas they weren't expecting stock for 3-4 months?  Go figure!
