DT1F ID
« on: August 25, 2009, 04:14:04 pm »
Hello Yamaha fans,
I have been offered a DT1F 250, vin: DT1F117928. It's fairly original, but well used and in need of a resto, the tank is ordinary, missing the air filter. Starts easy, sound good, runs & rides good. I have no idea what year or what it's worth. Any clues?
Cheers,
K

Be a 1970+ model. If you'd asked me a week a go, I'd have said it had to be a 71/72, but the more you learn, the less things make sense...

Has it got the road gear on it? The reed valves ones are worth SFA as race bikes, so they're only really worth anything when they're original/able to be brought back to original.

I bought two for a friendly $500. Did a bit of resto work on one, built the other as a race bike - ended up selling the unfinished resto'd bike with some extras for $600ish, if that's any guide..
The good thing about telling the truth is that you don't have to remember what you said.

Thanks, it's a reed engine and has the speedo, tacho, switch gear & tail lamp. No headlamp though. Not my thing so have no idea.
Cheers,
