Having been on hols in unzud I'm a bit slow getting to this one. Surprised to see the Pursang get a mention, but Mk7 125 is a sweet bike, esp handling & suspension.

Reasonably light & stone reliable when built right. Quite easily get decent power too. Would love to see what Lozza could get out of one. Long stroke engine for 125

Mk7 125 g'box ratios are a bit closer than other pursangs. RHS shifting is a problem for many, but can be converted to LHS. IIRC Tim Weaver in US has won numerous champs on one. Altho it has a diff barrell,  a Mk8 version won pre78 125 class in Tas a few yrs - pretty amazing feat when you compare a 75 'sang w a 77 RM or YZ.

IMHO, pursangs are much more than the sum of the parts.

A Can-Am 125MX would make perfect base also.

Lozza...the Can-Am 125 does not qualify for Pre'75...pity really 'cause that Rotax rotary certainly is quick...only held back by questionable handling and a bit overweight..

Hey Dave, Suzuki27 wants a 125, not a 185cc 250 class bike pretending to be a 125.  :o

I have a '74 KX125 undergoing race prep now. Will be ready and available in a month or so. There are a couple of other brands in the shed as well, one just as rare, maybe rarer than the KX. Anyone interested can PM me.
Cheers,
K

Mark you must say at the time 40 percent bike and 60 percent rider
Come on Dave it wouldn't have mattered if Will Bauer was on board the bike. The bike was ilegal and shouldn't have been allowed off the trailer. You knew it and you accepted your trophy without a word and that pissed a lot of folks off. You're a good bloke Dave but you cheated that day and you can't justify it by saying you didn't know. My Kiwi mate Bazza spotted it in the dark 10m away while half pissed.  ::)

Hey guys. Haven't you read the FIM rules, MX2=125 2 stroke and 250 4 stroke. If you can race a modern high-tech 250 4s. against the modern 125's, you should be able to race an old heavy trailbike 250 engine against the old 125's, the 2s. are almost the same then and now. ;)

thats just swearing, if a four stroke can't match similar opposition best bet is to burn it and buy a two stroke. Ak least, thats what Lozza tells me  :D

have a look at bucket racing on the road and you see what shit happens when you start trying to make different capacities comparable, one bloke spends thousands of hours and dollars to build a unbeatable bike to fit rules he made the framework for so that a four stroke can get a win against cheap cr85's
