Once went visit a mate in Jo'burg. He was pretty handy on a trials bike and I knew his dad dabbled in a bit of restoration. His dad asked me if I'd like to see his collection. "Yeah" says I and he opened up the garage and the first bike I saw was a Grey Flash. They only made 8. Two of which found their way to Rhodesia and SA. I didn't notice any other bikes after that.

Do my eyes deceive me? is that a canterlever rear suspension I see? How does it work with the seat sitting on that rear hoop? Does it slide back and forward or is my first question right?

....and the Matchless Silver Hawk had canter lever rear suspension before Vincent or HRD.

The 1930 Matchless Silver Arrow.

Makes you wonder how that Belgium dude patented the idea and why didn't Yamaha get around the patent rather than pay him and why did they hang onto the idea too long ::).
