Maico (what would it be worth.)
« on: July 27, 2009, 08:13:46 pm »
Hi, Would like some imput, l have a orange maico mc 400 which l will be helping a friend of mine to sell. This is totally original, and it has been in storage from 1973 unused. any idea on starting price, l will be going tomorrow night to check it out. I have seen the bike about 2 years ago and it was going to be put in a class cabinet on show, so it is in very good condition. What would it be worth

How about some GOOD photos for the whole class to look at Dave.

Lately Maicos haven't been selling for much I guess due to the economic 'correction' - irrespective of how nice they are!

Freaky perhaps funny definetley not true if you see first hand the quality of his bikes it's easy to see the amount of money and time spent so i think whatever he is asking is always very reasonable for the quality of the bikes that he is selling thanks Michael.      :)

It is especially funny coming from Maico Stu, considering the value he puts on his own Maico stuff is completely over the top  :D.

Luckily for me I didn't come bearing a gift, because I would have had to turn around & take it (over  3000 km) all the way home again  ::). Fortunately, I eventually managed to find someone to sell me a modified/vandalized '73 Maico frame for a realistic price  ;)

Well I ended up buying a Montesa , but I can't join the owners club yet because I can't find who has possession of the ceremonial goat  ;D. I thought that Holeshot Buddy had it, but he denies it  ???. Maybe Nathan has it hidden away down in Yass  :D ? And by the way Paul, I don't have a problem with you .I should thank you for helping me look for what I was chasing. If I come across a 501 basket case for sale, I will let you know .
