Luke, I know Bits for Bikes in Cairns have got one in pretty good nick.  I found it today while I was looking for a pipe for my 175.  They may not want to sell it as they've got a PE400 that they are doing a restoration on.  Dean's phone number is 07-4031-3866.

they are different part numbers but im im pretty sure the 250 pipe goes very close to fitting and there is not much in it. I think its just the length of the part that comes directly out the manifold which is shorter on the 400 pipe due to the manifold sticking out more because of the bigger bore. Luke ask Fabrice, he has the answer on this for sure as i know he told us on the forum the minor difference.

Since GMC is already jigged up for 79/80 RM 250 he is half way there to to PE400 pipes.

Your right Leith. I have both a 250 and 400 pipe here. I couldnt see any differance at all in shape or overall length of the pipes. However the manifold end on 250 is slighty longer. From what I can see if you trim that section on 250 pipe its indentical to 400.

ok that pretty much confirms what i had thought and what others had said to me before, i just could 100% remember the exact difference. What about the stinger end, is that the same? When you think about it there is not many places the pipe could be different as the 250 and 400's share the same frame, tank, airbox, same stroke engine etc

Stinger looks same. Its same length and size except for a support peice top and bottom over the join from chamber are leading into the stinger. I will get some pix tomorrow to show what im talking about.

Rm 250 T - Pe 250 T/X - Pe 400 T/X  all the same shape from manifold bend to stinger.
It's the piece that fits the manifold that changes and the stinger design .
