Modesett Engineering Exhaust
« on: July 22, 2009, 06:49:12 pm »
I just purchased a NOS Modesett up pipe for a TM125. I've never heard of them and was wondering if anyone else had or maybe know what they were like?  The pipes still in the US but it's on the prioety list 8) exits on the right with no muffler just the stinger.

trying to upload a picture but I'm on dialup at the mo so things happen slowly when they don't time out ::) it's an old pipe from the early 70's so I doubt they'd still be around.

Beautiful Doc, simply beautiful.......

Now that you have that one, do you have a normal TM125 pipe you want to see go to a good home? ;)

I'll be keen to see how that pipe fits Doc, I've trying to visualise it in my minds eye. But my minds eye needs glasses.

It does look well made and I'm just a slight shade of green...........................

here's a quick fit/placement of the Modesett pipe. Means I'll need to find somewhere else for a sideplate and fit a shorter kickstart lever but eh..I like it! ;D

Looks sort of like a CZ side pipe.

Does it stick out much Doc?

mmm..be nice in a stereo Brent 8) the pipe deosn't protude a great deal with the front section tucked in above the clutch cover. The widest bit is right at the shock rear mount but it's not by any overly huge amount and certainly no more than a stock exhaust. It also passes directly over the top of the clutch actuator which is a bit of a bitch so I'll need to go for an '85 DR250F clutch cable to get clearance. This cable has a nice chrome albow at the bottom that can have the cable exiting closer to the frame or if spun around will route the cable around the rear of the barrel and exit left side if needed ;)

Is there any chance you can re-post the photos of this exhaust pipe?

Thanks. Similar but not the same. The other day i did find a photo of a pipe that has the exact same 2 groups of 3 weld spots like mine  though. Same thing with that one, they had removed/lost what ever sport of heat shield was on there.
