I hear maico's are a bit unreliable, so having 2 spares on tap as you go riding as they shit themselves,  would be helpful ............... :D

Any ideas on what that pancake filter is off ? need one for a progect. :-X

You'd think that one three cylinder Maico is weird enough.  Now get your head around the fact that there are at least TWO.  :o

The top one belogs to Jim McCabe-a Maico rider since 1956 from Indiana USA. He has been very helpful on the Yahoo Maico forum. The Machine is intended to get a speed record at Bonneville Salt Flats. Rick Sieman aka "Super Hunky" saw it and thought it was a waste of a 490 Maico...but now thinks it is cool.
I have not seen pics of the second one before, but it is likley McCabe's as well.
He has more than a few Maico hybrids etc.

Nobody knows oval and square barrel Maicos better than Jim McCabe. He's one of those crusty old buggers that have a wealth of experience and knowledge that needs to be recorded before he pops off the planet. I'm going to build my pre 65 oval 360 to his specs.

I've managed to locate a stash of 250/360 parts in Florida and I'm negotiating with the bloke at present. He's playing tough but I'll eventually get what I need. I've picked up a couple of 400/360 squarie enginess in recent weeks, in fact you saw one in the back of my Jeep the other day!

But then again it might not fit into our twin-shock rules.
