I think everyone overlooks the fact that some really good machinery came out of the UK....AJS is superb.

Just dealing with major UK specialist:

I asked "when will you respond to my email ?"

the answer: " arr that be young Colins job evry Monday.... eee be off sick las Monday  arrrrr" ::)

see get spoilt with American Service and paypal.

That's a really nice Stormer. They're not that bad a bike and they sure are pretty aren't they? Dave Tellez the bloke selling this, is the same guy selling the RH67 for 29k.

I argued that I wasn't obliged to pay his fees and he went into an anti Aussie barage (convicts, dumb Aussies, cheats, thieves etc) and reckoned that "all of his customers pay those fees". I wasn't prepared to hassle over a 12 quid item and needed it in a hurry so I reluctantly paid his fees and promptly gave him a nasty negative feedback after I recieved the seat (which wasn't what I thought it would be). He now has "I don't ship to Australia or New Zealand" on his eBay postings.

Luckily most parts for British bikes can be found in the USA for cheaper prices, cheaper shipping and far more abliging service. The American bloke that supplies our Sprite parts is friendly, fair with his pricing, informative and has nearly everything you need. It's the same with Greeves and AJS. As much as I hate cricket, I hope we whoop the Poms in the Ashes series and in every other endevour where we take them on. "Me pissed off?" You betcha!

poms in pommy land WOW  i had the same trouble with wulfsports after numerious emails that where like trying to decifer the enigma code and finially the wrong parts being sent and the nearlly 200 pounds postage attached to my credit card i thought that s it  with STEPTOE AND SON AND THE WHOLE UK EXPERIENCE CAN GO AND JUMP IN THE THAMES RIVER

Who wouldn't be pissed off with us - they now realise they sent their best and most resourceful people over to Australia and other far flung dominions years and years age !!! Now they are importing all sorts of Mosque builders and others to fill the gaps !!!

And their weather - farrrrkkkkkkkk

No wonder they are shitbags to deal with half the time  ;)

Give me the Yanks to deal with anytime, and generally I find they are more honest than ANYONE else on ebay - Aussies included (especially one or two I could think of !!!)

Y'know, I like England and most Poms. I love their beer and even like the weather in small doses. What I don't like is their piss poor attitude to business and service. Many of the Brit classic bike suppliers display the same crap attitude to their customers as the management of most of the British motorcycle and car manufacturers did during the late sixties.
They didn't give a toss and disregarded the threats from Japan and America and promptly all went belly up within a short time. It's ironic that many of the dodgy suppliers are selling parts for bikes and cars whose manufacturers went broke because of the same attitudes they themselves display.
We might not all agree with Americas politics but we have to aplaud their attitude towards commerce and good old fashioned service. It's the attitude on which the American system is based. They don't always get it right but overall they're pretty efficient and will rarely screw you. I'd rather deal with Americans than any other race of people including Aussies.

I must say, dealing with British suppliers in the 1980s was very effective, and quite civilised. But sadly, their subculture of dealers and "specialists" has its' fair share of shonks, and it didn't take them long to figure out that even if they sent crap, or the wrong item, to the far-flung reaches of "The Empah" like Australia and NZ, nobody was going to be pounding on their counter on Monday morning, so too bloody bad. Well, like all the local bike shops that refuse to afford anything resembling service to customers like us who are after something a little more off-the-wall or hard to get, they can wedge it, and with a little patience and homework, the net can help us get bits from all manner of sources. If they tumble to the fact that we're cashed up, sincere and won't be dicked around, then all's good...if they don't, then it's their loss. Geez there are some slow learners around..... ::)

i deal with antig in the uk dave perry is a good bloke and will look after you.ring up and order what you want he will send it to you.my wife comes from the same town and when she goes there( next friday)i ring david and give him my order and it is ready when she calls in to pick it up.must be DIRTTRACK&SPEEDWAY guys just good blokes all the time.my order is already in

Its strange that AJS were the start of LTR suspension but weren't copied and weren't credited. I remember they were acknowledged at the time for having good rear suspension but it didn't make them the winningest bike. I think the arrangement also stressed out the old gas Girlings and they popped they seal regularly (which they did where ever you placed them :P).
