Naturaly Free??
« on: June 27, 2009, 05:47:53 pm »
I tried the search function but no cigar. Is my memory correct that the Aussie response to the seminal 'On Any Sunday' movie was 'Naturaly Free' ???? Can anyone confirm this? Does anyone have the DVD/VHS? Care to check something for me if you do have it? Any help greatly appreciated.
Cheers
Lozza

Found something. It's easier to find with two L's, as in Naturally Free.

Hi Guys.. can anyone get me the info on where to get a copy ... Very special movie for me .. I actually own one of the bikes that appeared in the movie .. albeit a brief flip on the main straight at the Bilpin MX circuit by my brother.
I have the bike but I sadly dont have my brother who owned and rode it back then so I would really appreciate any info to get a copy.
Great movie..I attended the premiere event at the Sydney Opera House with a bus load of other Hawkesbury district MX club members.. about 74 or 75 I guess, and yes I purchased  the record.. it was crap!!..but I played it over and over.. ah.. memories!!!
Yes I do still ride the same bike .. its been a completely re-built ground up restoration and  was never to leave the loungeroom in honor of my brother .. but I actually think he wanted me to get some life out of it ..so 2010 look out fast 50's .. me and bro will be hittin the berms together !

Hi guys,
Boy, are you all ahead of the game! We're showing 'Naturally Free' as our main film on the Friday Film night at HBBB. Is there any way we could get a copy of the poster Doc, to hang outside the Marquee?
Cheers,
D.

From memory Evan Green did the commentry,
It's been quite a few years since I saw it but I would bet a couple of schooners on John Laws doing the commentary.

The words on the poster 'commentary by John Laws' might give it away. The film would have been far better without the mock crashes and other silly stuff, footage from the Showground Speedway shows how popular it was with the punters, Oran Park seems only had the new pit complex and a few walls moved since then to it's immenent demise :'( :'( :'(
