pre 65 cutoff should be widened to accept bikes that are 'in the spirit' of the era. Similar to the illfated pre 68 class.

The problem with those 'in the spirit' things is people can't control their spirits. One other option that is pretty consistent with what is happening with classic road bikes is you include 'parade laps' at meetings..... the racers can build pure class legal bikes and the players can get in 4 hot laps and spend the rest of the afternoon talking about it.
Its good for the sport, you get more guys out and guys might get keen and race the era.
