Suzuki CCI oil pump
« on: June 05, 2009, 01:18:00 pm »
Are these all the same pump across the range of TC / TS / TM / TF / 100 / 125 / 185 / 250 / 400.......

The one i have is a MIKUNI with 2 feed tubes to the cylinder and l/h main bearing and is seized to the point where the worm drive on the input shaft is stripped!! >:(

I need a good one, (amont a growing list of bits needed  ;D), there are a few available over here in NZ but off different bikes, so I need to know if they are all the same or not...

Im keeping the CCI system intact as Suzuki intended and am NOT interested in going the premix way...

Well I went and saw my wrecker....

All he has is a few very similar pumps with push-in brass fittings instead of the small banjo type I have  :(

As well as this, they all seem to have only one feed line comming off the pump, the right side outlet seems not to be used...???? :o

Can I either tap these two fittings to accept my banjos (if the right side one even works.....) or simply use the drive and small other parts and fit these to my existing stuffed one ( basically use my pump body with the replacement pump internals???)

Dont even bother suggesting premix.... Im not interested..... :D

Such a common part but what a pain in the arse!

i think its best to use the right pump for the right bike and no modify something to suit. these pumps are calibrated to feed a specific amount of oil at a time and i certainly would not go messing with them. The life and performance of the motor depends on the correct oil pump in good working order. Im sure theres some on ebay. Dont US sellers ship to NZ?

Yes they do ship to NZ but the cheapest price I had for shipping was $31.00 US !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! for a lousy pump!!!!!

I tend to agree, the right part for the right bike.......there must be some around somewhere.

From a curiosity point of view, I might grab one of the ones from the wrecker and see what bits actually interchange.

Its only 2 parts that need to be replaced....

if the pump fits on,why not just set it up to provide more sooner??,(advance the cable??) put a T piece in the single output line, main bearing wouldn't require that much would it??,justa thought ;)
work, the curse of the racing class!!
if a hammer dosn't fix it,you have a electrical problem!!

I have a rooted RV125 bottom end and it has all the oil pump stuff still attached, I'll look into pulling it out to see if it's any good. If it is serviceable you can have it for free + postage.

Thanks guys....

The single feed to the engine cannot be split to feed both points as it wont provide enough oil at full throttle and I DONT want it seizing at 10,000 rpm !!!!

CG, you are an absolute gem! I am going to the wreckers tomorrow afternoon after work and will get a pump to see if I can make 1 out of 2...... I will let you know if I need the pump mate, thanks very much.

Trade me has one at the moment but it is the wrong type as are all the others i have come across so far....

Fun and games with VMX and old bikes, its half the attraction..... ;D

No probs, I'll stop by the Post office and pick up a padded bag tomorrow and sort out how much it will cost to airmail to NZ.
