Do you need a good motor or just some parts.
What eng. number defines the "A"
I have a bottom end that I am saving for the ignition as I am told they can be adapted to CZ's, I don't need / want the rest of it. The barrel has been off for years so I would assume crank bearings are no good, no idea about condition of the rest of it.

Gidday Geoff  :) thanks for the pipe its great
I dont know the engine numbers sorry. The A model motor is identifiable by the following features.
Black in color
6 head studs
4 Base studs
PISTON PORT MOTOR , NO CASE REED
Rack & pinion clutch realease system
They look very much like the later TS ER model motor but they are piston port
I would prefer a complete motor but i dont need the ignition thanks Bill  :)

Thanks for the offer Quicky but i have several ER motors and about a dozen TS 185 L & M motors  ::) Its the A model motor i specificly want for a project.
If Cycle god keeps finding NOS parts at this rate i will be able to build a new one from scratch  ;D

Ok'e kok'e I have a TS 185 M motor  with RM 125 S trans & primary drive in it and other mods , in a TM 125 & ocasionally RM 125S Chassis.

It goes alright but the A motor should be a mch better prospect the Factory cliamed 8% more power . Potentionaly more tuning potentioal  better porting ie 4 transfers rather than 2 and rack & pinion clutch.

Now i know the MX die hards will say why bother  ::) Beacause i want a 250 class Suzuki for pre 75 . I have owned 2 TM 250s and am currently negotiating for another , But in my humble Suzuki goggled opinion as a race bike there a heavy piece of shit that wont turn  :o

I thought about putting the TM motor in my :) Cooper frame but thats just plain silly :)

That is EXACTLY !!! the same project I have brewing at the moment. Great minds think alike it seems, I'm using a RM125s gearbox from a stuffed bottom end with a NOS clutch hub and primary I got for .99c on eBay. I have just recently got a NOS
magneto cover and sprocket cover (from the same wrong listing guy) to go with the pinion clutch cover I already have. I will post some pics when she's ready.

But the A is a 76 model - won't using a 76 barrel etc disqualify you from pre-75?  :'(
