KX125 1982 Clutch cable - are they fairly generic?
« on: May 19, 2009, 01:35:39 pm »
Hi all

I'm in need of a new clutch cable for my 1982 KX125.  I'm thinking I should be able to just take the cable to a Kawasaki dealer tomorrow (Vince Strang) and with some luck find a generic Kawasaki cable of a similar length.

Is this reasonable?  Or do I need to chase a specific one down from eBay?

I'm using a Ballard's perch and the clutch arm looks pretty regular too.

Lastly, I can't decide between fork gaiters (rubber boots) and no-gaiters.  I need to buy either so it's coming down to a decision of vanity!

cheers
Jimmy

and to answer my own question..

My Kawasaki dealer said 'not able to order' so he sold me a new inner cable and both lugs for $10.

A bit of time with the soldering iron and the dremel and all sorted..
