BSA Scrambler 650.

Whats a BSA 650 Scrambler? MX bike, something like bushman only bigger?  ???
 Bloke said shes late 1960s he thinks, twin pipes on left side. Pulled apart but missing the tank otherwise complete he claims. Ive not seen it yet but will next week.

More likely to be a Road based "Street Scrambler"  Road bike with up swept pipes made mostly for the US market. It still sounds very interesting to me Quicky check it out for sure. :)Tim

could be a Firebird street scrambler,late 60's,pipes up the l/h side,small headlite,if no headlite/road gear,it might be a Spitfire hornet?,but pipes were high up over motor on both sides,either way it's a serious step up from a bushman  ;D,cheers Mick

Your right guys. Certainly a street bike, hate to try and chuck it around a track. Its a Firebird scarmbler, he reckons only 100 or so made.  If his figures are right and theirs only 100 of them ( which I doubt ) imagine trying to get parts to restore it. ::)  Gee's TM250 are bad enough. ;D

Chrome is stuffed, frame has a bend in both front down tubes. No tank, seat wrecked, engine in a million bits. '(
Last week he was talking a few hundred bucks. Today its was few thousand dollars  :o Reckons a mate saw one in the net for $7000........ F&*k knows or cares. Damn thing is butt ugly, underpowered , overweight, bent, rusty, incomplete pile of shit.  :D

It's a bit like a quote I saw in a pommie magazine recently, it went sometning like..........there was 200 produced, of which 300 remain.

That ebay bikes the one. No where near that condition. Frame looks slightly different at front also. One I saw had two bars at front.

Same pipes, same ugliness. Big heavy thing...

Do get me wrong I'm not bagging vintage bikes, in fact I'm very keen on them, just dint like that style. British bikes of 1960s dont do it for me. 1900 to 1950s it a different story. ;)

What kind of money does the bloke want Quicky? I have a long term project Trackmaster flat tracker looking for an engine. An A65 Beeza might me nice if it's cheap enough.

I have a first model 1950 rigid frame 6T 650 Thunderbird complete with Dusting sidecar, as fitted in Pommie land in the factory  before it was came here for the Victorian Police as the test machine. Is complete ,except for the hand wind siren that some turd nicked , has generator and alternator from factory. but needs a full resto and i cannot do it in the near future. Start at $ 15000...... Tim ......... Not kidding........
