First model pe 250 was it 1977 in oz
« on: April 23, 2009, 10:36:46 pm »
A old work mate asked me to find out what his PE250 would be worth i dont really no ,he told me he had it since new,and its still on the org rings,  he said it was the first model pe 250. I checked www.alpha-sports.com to see when the first model came out they had 1977 but thats in the usa . i got the frame nos off the site to check later on his bike.I did see it about 7 years ago it had flat tires and a broken clutch cable ,looked org but needed a tidy up. hes not into bikes only when he was younger, I dont thing its been going for about 10 years  :-\ would it make a good pre 78 bike :o or vinduro

yes the first model here was the 77 250 B

minimum $1000, you dont see many around in Australia

are you interested in buying it? it could sell for less, it could sell for a lot more. it just depends on whos selling it and whos buying it.

best way to do it is put in on ebay with a highish reserve to get some sort if idea what people will pay for it. if the reserve isnt met he doesnt have to sell it. if the reserve is met then all is well.

most important thing to do with ebay listing is good photos and description. you cant expect to sell good bike with one small little photo.

..........not sure if its true or not ,but a bloke rang me a while back looking for parts for his '77 250B PE ,and he said it was actually THE first PE imported into Australia. Apparently it was brought in for some factory rider or something.
If you're interested I can find out more about it ???

Mmmm... PE250B. My mate had one of those, and it was definiely 1977 and the first model to hit Aussie shores. Don't see them very often. No idea if they are worth much (tho it would be if it were still in the crate! :)). But I've always wanted one of those, I thought they were pretty cool bikes back then. I reckon it'd get snapped up pretty quick.

make him an offer of a couple hundred. you never know he may think hes gettng a good deal, you get the bike and everyones happy. The best purchases are like that when the seller is not really aware of the value and the buyer is and you end up getting it at a good price.
