Hello Kristen,
You can change the heading to Manjimup 50000  ;D  ;)  as they have got a big promoter,The same fellow who also put up the goods for the Tumblegum Natural Terrain.
Yep few whispers at this stage of who is invited to attend as an extra class.  :o
Be one big event this one-29th,30th 1st June long weekend  8)

Wow a pre 85 race at manjimup on the same day as the moderns would be a killer.. sort the men from the boys. It would have to be a 1 lap race..we were a lot younger and fitter when we raced on tracks like that!

after last years  VMXWA event there last year.  took me a week to be able to walk properly again.  Can't wait to ride again this year at the club event

Manjimup with pre 85's would be awesome, the whole weekend is, packed house with spectator's.  We've already booked a house at Donnelly River, just to make certain we don't miss out

Manjimup one of the venues you have to put on your must see list around Australia

Yes it really is a place worth visiting. I went to the MX des nations there in '92 and it was a great weekend and an excellent track. Probably the roughest sand track i've seen on that weekend.

Just having a read,as you do with out a book these days.
"Olympics of Motocross".   8)
1992 Event Des Nations

Manjimup, Australia. United States wins, Belgium is second, Great Britain is third. This was the so-called 'B' team from USA. Emig and LaRocco were in the midst of a battle for the AMA 125cc Championship that year, and Liles was a journeyman who had become a regular and a contender in the FIM 500cc World Championship. The top US 250cc and 500cc stars such as Stanton and Bradshaw declined to ride for Team USA, but American honor was upheld by the 'B' team in 1992, with Emig dragging his handlebar in corners, LaRocco showing his usual toughness, and Liles putting in an otherworldly performance on qualifying day to secure the top time for Team USA.[1]

I will be there, riding a 1974 MX250A or MX360A (whichever is going)   I'll be the one lying in the big hole left by the modern bikes.  Oh yeah and don't hurt me when you lap me

Wife Christine is taking shots (wish they were tequila) for the VMXWA club on the day, so you pre 85 guys had better be good to her if you want GOOD shots of yourselves, (one bottle of tequila will work!!lol).  You should look at her work on our website

If anyone is looking for accommodation we have hired a house out at Donnelly Mill fri-mon, have couple of rooms spare

Manjimup 15,000 motocross brings factory racers to WA
Posted: Friday, 22nd May, 2009 : 12:42 PM - - 1884 Reads -
Western Australia’s biggest motocross event the Manjimup 15,000 will see a line-up of Australia’s best east coast motocross racers heading over to WA, to take on the locals as they prepare on WA’s sandy soil for the National Motocross Championship two weeks after in Perth.

Manjimup 15,000 will take place on the weekend of 30-31 May at Cosy Creek Motocross Circuit in Manjimup, with nine classes of racing in both the senior and junior ranks over the two days.

East Coast rider Tye Simmonds of Motorex KTM Racing is the likely favourite after his win on the KTM 450 SX-F at the Tumbulgum Farm Motocross event, held at Byford in March earlier this year.

Simmonds holds the title of Under 19s Australian Motocross Champion, yet has now stepped up in to the Pro Lites class of motocross racing for the current Australian Championship, where he currently sits in third.

Simmond’s toughest competitor of the Australian Motocross Championship, Matt Moss (Suzuki), is also making the trip over to WA, along with Cody Mackie (Kawasaki) who is renowned for his training with current AMA Supercross Champion Bubba Stewart. Mitchell Hoad (Serco) who also races in the National Pro Lites class is the final confirmed east coast rider to be making the trip over.

The east coast factory riders are sure to set a fast pace in the All Stars class, which will be the main competitive class for the event. Local contenders confirmed to take on the visitors will be reigning WA State Motocross Champion, Michael Addison, and current points leader of this year’s WA State Motocross Championship Louis Calvin, who like Tye Simmonds will be riding the KTM 450 SX-F.

The All Stars class will comprise of four motos, with each moto being six laps on a two kilometre circuit. The riders will also compete in a Shoot Out sprint race, where the slower riders are eliminated down to the last two for a shoot out.

A prize pool of 15,000 has generated interest of up to 550 rider entries to date. Racing starts at 9am and goes to 4pm both days. Tickets can be purchased at the gate.
The pre75,pre85 and sidecars will also be having a run.
cheers
